URICH, Mo. (Dec. 12, 2006) - The Grass Roots Speed organization, with Rod End Supply and 24 Raceway presented the Missouri Indoor Championship on Sat. Dec 9th and the Magic City Indoor Classic on Sun the 10th at Boone County Fairgrounds in Columbia, Mo with 12" of snow outside of the warm multi-purpose facility there. Missouri race car drivers, Thomas Chandler, Rod Baird, Kyle Carpenter, Logan Martin and Cody Frazon took home all but one Missouri Championship title.

Five yr old Kelby Watt took the Kid's restricted Outlaw Sprint trophy home to Adel, Ia, telling the announcer, "I can't believe I won, I haven't been here before!" He gave the stranger, giving him the tall award, a big hug and wouldn't let go while the large crowd cheered. Race fans from Pennsylvainia to California were on had to watch the littlest, big winner of the evening, claim the first feature! Next to the podium, in Modified Outlaws was Logan Martin, 10, of West Plains, Mo. He made a last lap pass on Laney Feight of Indianola, Ia. to claim that victory!

Dad's raced too, at the season finale for the state of Missouri. Rod Baird took the TRS O'Reilly Extreme Sprint win, his touring group will go to Illinois in an overlapping Winter tour. The 2006 Missouri champ wants the Extreme title as well. He will also be taking 16 yr old Kyle Bellum into the "Chilli Bowl" Midget Nationals in January!

The biggest winner at Columbia was a first time winner in the non-wing, 25 lap 600cc Midget A Main! Festus, Mo driver, Thomas Chandler lead his Fat Boy Chassis teammate, to the checkered flag. Tony Roney of Heculaneum held off Sweet Spring's Dudey Hall, 3rd and Allen Koch in 5th. A Jacksonville, Ill. driver, Bob Lynn came between the Mo. boys to take 4th in the Sat. Missouri Championship event. Lynn also took 5th in Sunday's Magic City, Indoor Classic making him, high point man for the weekend. Grand River Speedway driver, 10 yr. old Devon Huff, Nixa, Mo, made quite an impression by outdriving several elders to a heat race win that put him on the pole for Saturday's A-main, he chose to start in the rear and ended up taking 9th and then bettered that with Sunday's, Magic City Classic finish of 6th! Huff will be awarded the 2006 GRS Fall Series, 600cc Midget points championship while Thomas Chandler savors his Rod End Supply Missouri Indoor Championship title.

Joining Devon Huff in overall GRS Fall Series points titles are, Dakota Singmaster, 13, Ft Scott, Ks in Compact Hobby Stocks, Jerry Schmidt of Independence, Mo in Street Stocks, Jeremy McConville, Pleasant Hill in the Open Class. Al Guthrie will be the 2006 GRS Bomber Champion.

Dakota Singmaster cinched his points championship by finishing 3rd in the Magic City Indoor Classic's Hobby Stock feature. Cody Frazon of LaMonte won that event by 4" over 2nd place, Matt Marrant. The Magic City Classic, Midget feature went to 15 yr old, Blake Fitzpatrick of Terra Haute, Indiana followed closely by two O'Reilly POWRi drivers, Daniel Robinson and Austin Brown.
