LP Memorial update

LEBANON, MO. (Sept. 22, 2006) - The qualifying night for the 4th annual Fall Shootout Larry Phillips Memorial race gave fans a preview of what Saturday night's features will be.

Headliner action, the MARS/UMP Late Model $10,000 to-win challenge, had several big names racing from all over the Midwest. Brian Shirley came out strongest on the night, winning his heat race and the qualifying feature. Shirley will start the 50-lap main Late Model feature on the pole.

In stellar heat race action, Terry Phillips started in the back of his heat race but came charging to take third on a last-lap pass of Joey Mack. Phillips will be starting the main feature on the outside front row, giving him an advantage to win the race that is named for his father.

Also racing tonight will be Modifieds. Terry Beckham Jr. and Tony Jackson Jr. both topped their heats and will be looking for a tough victory in the $1,500 to-win race.

DLRA Legends, Factory Stock, Super Stocks and Bombers will all be racing their features after qualfying Friday night.
