Lebanon Midway To Start With 2nd Annual Modified Madness

Lebanon, Mo. (March 4, 2006) - The 2006 Racing season at the Lebanon Midway Speedway will start with a bang as the running of the 2nd Annual Modified Madness will be the season opener on April 7th and 8th.

This event will pay $6,000 to the winner with just starting the 50 lap event will pay $600 .

Last year some of the best of the MidWest in Modified Racing checked into the pits to make the 26 car field and when the checkered flag flew, it was ILL Hotshoe Chad Kinder claiming the winners check as he overtook leader Sean Williams on lap 27 and then held off a late charging Chad Lyle at the finish.

This season the entry fee will be $125 and all drivers will draw for heat race positions. The winners of the respective heats will be locked into the 50 lap feature on Sat Night April 8th,but will be running a pole dash later that evening to determine the starting spots up front. The remaining drivers from those heats(2nd,3rd and maybe 4th place) will line-up and run a 25 lap Qualifying feature to help make the 14 cars locked into Sat Nights feature. Area Bombers will also be running on Friday Night a full show with the feature paying 200 to win.

On Sat Night drivers will redraw for heats and the winners will lock into the feature. The remaining drivers will then run a final last chance race to help fill out the field.2 spots will be held for the highest top 2 Midway Speedway point cars who do not qualify finishing out the 26 car field. Winged Sprint Cars will be racing on Sat Night a full show paying 500 to win and 100 to start.

Tires eligible for this seasons Modified Madness are the American Racer G60 IMCA Stamped, the American Racer Non-stamped G60,the Hoosier A40 and the new Hosier IMCA Stamped G60.Grooving allowed on the American Racer tires and also, the type of tire that gets you into the 50 lapper is the type you must run in the 50 lapper. Weight is 2400 Lbs with driver after the race, and if you run Alm.heads,50 pounds of weight must be mounted with 25 Lbs on each side of the front of the bell-housing. Rain date has been set for Sat Night April 15th.

Friday night action will see the pit gates and Grandstand Gates open at 5,with Hot laps at 7:15 and Racing at 8PM-While Sat Night will see the gates open at 5 with Racing at 7:30
