by:

Lebanon, Mo. (March 18, 2006) - Final Touches are being done in gearing-up for the 2006 Racing Season at the Lebanon Midway Speedway. The track will hold 2 practice sessions for drivers before the opening weekend Modified Madness on April 7&8.

On Sat March 25th,the gates will open at Noon and cars will be allowed on the track starting at 1PM and practice will last until around 5PM.pit passes will be $10 and admission to the grandstands is FREE.

Then on Friday Night March 31st,drivers will get a practice under the lights as the gates will open around 5PM and practice will start around 7:30-9:30PM.

"The first practice in the daytime will be abit warmer for the drivers and this normally is a good test session to see how the cars are running, checking for leaks, etc. "quoted Owner Harold Armstrong. "We have never had a daytime race at the Midway or practice, but this will let drivers know what the cars are doing."

The final practice under the lights will allow the racers to see how the car will perform under race conditions.

The track added new clay this season along with putting a little more banking in turns 3&4 and also changed the configuration of those turns.

"Feedback from the drivers in all classes said that was our most troublesome spot and tricky spot, so I reworked it right after the season ended. We will see how this works for everyone.

Other new things the Speedway has done over the winter was added much more pit space as additional land was purchased. New Restrooms over in the pits are being built and the layout of the pits is a little bit different. We are building a hot lane to where a driver can go and change a flat tire. The pits were very crowded last season and it made it very difficult for a driver with a flat to get it changed under caution, so this will help speed things-up some.

"Last season we did alot for the fans with new bleachers, more room and several other things, so this season I'm working on things for the drivers."

This season the Speedway will feature Late Model weekly racing as the track joined the Fastrak Weekly Series, becoming the first in the state of Missouri in joining and Lowe Chevrolet in St Roberts becoming the title sponsor.

Modifieds, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Winged Sprints and Bombers will also headline the racing on Friday Nights beginning in April as car count last season averaged close to 100 car a night.

Special events this season will include the opening Modified Madness on April 7&8 with the winner receiving $6,000 to win as Bombers and Winged Sprints will race full shows that weekend, The first ever Fast Factory 50 for the Factory Stocks as $5,000 will go to the winner on April 21&22.The Fastrak MidWest Regional Touring Series will join on April 22nd as the locals will battle the touring drivers, Then in May on Memorial Weekend, the first ever Missouri Triple Crown for the Fastrak Late Models with $2000 going to the winner. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Super Late Models will be racing on June 16th.

NASCAR driver and Missouri Native Kenny Wallace will be competing on Thursday Night June 8th in his St Louis Cardinals Modified on a special night of racing as Modifieds will run for $1000 to win and also the Challenge of Late Model Series as the Fastrak Late Models will battle the cars of the Show-Me Racin Series.

The popular Fireworks show along with Racing on June 30th, The Sprint Car Challenge will be held on July 14th with extra money in that event along with a full points show. The Show-Me Racin Series will make its way to the Midway in Aug.

Something for the entire family as the speedway has special events for the kids 10 and under as on the opening points night on April 14th,an Easter Egg hunt will be in place,2 bike races are set this season along with the Kid's Coin Scramble in July.

The season Ending Fall Brawl will be held on Sept 22nd and 23rd with over 40,000 in purse money up for grabs, and the always popular Enduro Races will be held once a month along with 2 poweder puff events this season.
