Myers Ends Harris Streak At Midway In Fastrak LateModels

LEBANON, Mo. (May 19, 2006) - 90 Race teams and close racing provided racing action Friday Night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as Lebanon area drivers took home several feature wins.

In the Fastrak LateModel feature Ron Myers grabbed the early lead from his front row starting spot as all eyes were on point leader Jared Harris to see if he could make it 3 in a row.

Myers pulled to a 5 car lead as points runner-up Mike Berger statred to close-in as Rustin Miller,veteran Tom Frasher,Daniel Moser and Harris were battling for position.

Berger closed-in on Myers on lap 3 and the battle was on as the lead duo were swapping the top spot with great side by side action.Rustin Miller started making his charge only to loop it on lap 4 bringing the yellow out. On the restart,Myers and Berger continued swapping for the lead with Frasher and Harris battling for 3rd.Myers would lead going into turn 1 and Berger shot to the inside in turn 2 as this battle lasted until lap 13 when Myers pulled away on the highside.

Berger tried to gain in the final 5 laps,but Myers had the high groove working good and captured his first ever LateModel feature win ending the Harris win streak at 2.Following Myers to the stripe was Berger,Frasher,Harris and Moser in the top 5.
The SuperStock feature event was all Donnie Gennings as Gennings jumped from his front row starting spot and lwould lead all 15 laps of the feature event as point leader Ben Newell charged from the rear of the field to grab the runner-up spot with Rookie Travis Hill finishing a close 3rd followed by JC Newell and Bill Joiner. Amsoil provided an extra $25 to a lottery spot as Robbie Simmons grabbed that money with his position.

The Modified feature provided plenty of excitement as Mike Montague grabbed the early lead with Rick Brown close behind.Eric Hudson then overtook Brown and closed in on leader Montague.The battle behind was tight as Brown,Jason Russell,Jamie Ragland and last weeks winner Tony Jackson Jr along with Jimmy Willis were battling.On lap 8,Ragland running the top side moved into second and applied pressure to leader Montague and on lap 10 moved into the lead.Battling behind were Hudson,Jackson,Russell and point leader James Hartman.A lap 16 caution bunched the field-up but Ragland withstood the challanges of Montague to capture his 2nd feature win of the season followed closely by Montague,Jackson,Hudson and Russell in the top 5.

The Winged Sprints would see defending champion Eric Todd power from his 2nd row starting spot to grab the early lead with Rookie Kyle Bellm right behind him. On lap 2,Bellm flipped his machine on the frontstretch ended his night and also collecting point leader Joe Todd.Bellm walked away unhurt. On the restart, Eric Todd would pull away with his brother Clint moving into 2nd place and Steve Lawrence 3rd.On lap 11,the yellow waved as Rusty Quick flipped his car in turn 4 and landed back on his wheels. On the restart, Clint Todd tried the outside ,but Eric was on a mission and grabbed the victory with Clint Todd,Steve Lawrence,Matt Tatro and Scott Wedelstadt completing the top 5.

The bombers again provided some great action as Mike Piercey jumped into the lead over the 26 car field from his pole position with Jennifer Crouch close behind. On lap 2,Brian Monnahan moved from 5th to 2nd and closed in on leader Piercey.

 This battle last the entire 15 laps as Larry Franklin, Billy Watters, point leader Shawn Winfrey, Jennifer Crouch and Missy Shaw were all battling for position. On the last lap, Midway Traffic played into the finish as leader Piercey hit traffic on the backstretch with monnahan closing in.Going into turn 3,Piercey moved to the bottom as Monnahan drove to the highside. Piercey then jumped the hub as Franklin was charging hard as rookie Derrik Brown was coming stron in the latter part of the feature. With 4 wide racing in turn 4,Monnahan moved upstairs and drove to the win with Franklin, Winfrey, Brown and Piercey completing the top 5.Franklin failed after race tech putting Winfrey into the runner-up spot as Missy Shaw claimed the 5th spot.

In Factory stock action, Glen Dismang grabbed the early lead with Jay Flinn right on his bumper.Point leader Tim Brown was in the pack as Flinn grabbed the lead.Amsoil money winner Aaron Gustin ended his night early against the frontstretchwall with a broken tierod.Flinn then went into the pits with problems and Dismang grabbed the lead with Mike Shaddy and Kris Jackson close behind followed by James Ellis.On lap 13,Jackson took to the highside with Dismang downstairs, then Mike Shaddy followed on the top around and challanged for 2nd place as Brown was making his move to the front. Jackson withstood the late charge from Shaddy to claim his first win of the season followed closely by Shaddy, Brown, Ellis,and early leader Dismang.

Next Weekend the Midway will host the 1st night of the MissouriTriple Crown Fastrak LateModel Nations.
The LateModel feature winner will recieve 2000 to win with 200 to start.Drivers from Missouri, Wisconsin, ILL and the Southern part of the region are expected. also racing in the Modifieds, Winged Sprints, Bombers and the 1st Enduro Race of the season for Trophies in the top 4 along with the winner recieving the pole for the June paying Enduro. Gates open at 5 with hotlaps at 6:55 and racing at 8PM sharp.
