LebanonMidway Announces Tire Rule Change On Modifieds
by: Ronnie Williams

Lebanon, Mo (June 2, 2006) - Officials at the Lebanon Midway Speedway have announced a tire rule change going into effect on July 7th.

Currently the Midway allows the Modified Class to run the following tires-the Hoosier A40,The American Racer G60 KK704 and the new Hoosier G60.
On July 7th,Modified drivers will no longer be able to run the Hoosier A40.

"We are changing this because it seems as if we are keeping drivers locked into 1-2 tracks here in the area. Many drivers are wanting to race with us,but say that the A40 is a better tire and that the cost doesn't justify racing here."Quotes owner Harold Armstrong.

"Several of local drivers have the American Racer G60 that the USRA Sanctioned tracks are running, this should allow them to cut down on the tire bill and make the playing field more level for all.

Defending track champion Jamie Ragland supports the decision as he said that it limits the drivers to only run the Midway or Lake Ozark Speedway."The Hoosier A40 is a better overall tire, but we need to look at the class and car count overall.I like racing at the Midway as they pay the class as good as anyone locally except for CMS,and with LucasOilSpeedway getting ready to open and alot of tracks around on Sat night this will help everyone out.

The Midway normally pays 500 to win the Modified feature along with 75 to start and has produced some excellent racing with the top 4 battling in points very close.
