New Winners Grace LebanonMidway Racing/Francis Grabs Enduro Victory

LEBANON, MO. (June 23, 2006) - Fast paced racing racing and New winners highlighted the racing card Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as over 100 car checked into the pits.

Factory Stock Racing feature would see Mike Shaddy and James Ellis bring the field down to the green with Shaddy jumping to the early lead with Ellis in hot pursuit followed by Bob Gustin and Bobby Ratterree.

Shaddy using the highline that worked strong for him last week had his car glued strong as Ellis was working the low groove. Kris Jackson joined the fun as he moved into the top 5.Out in front Shaddy was on a mission as the feature took an all green flag run. Ellis and Gustin had a tight battle for second with Ratterree lurking in the shadows. On lap 10,Gustin and Ellis touched sending both drivers in different directions and allowing Ratterree to move into 2nd place with Jackson battling. Out in front Shaddy drove away and claimed his 1st victory of the season with Ratterree, Gustin, Jackson and last weeks winner Glen Dismang in the top 5.
 

The Bombers again provided a great feature as lady driver Missy Shaw and Keith Cheever brought the field to the start.Shaw grabbed the early lead with Chris Johnson following closely. On lap 4,Johnson moved into the top spot as point leader Shawn Winfrey, Joe Francis, Larry Franklin and last weeks winner Jack Hamer were coming strong. With Johnson setting a fast pace, Shawn Winfrey and Larry Franklin were battling for 2nd place side by side.On lap 11,Franklin moved to the inside groove around Winfrey and then passed Johnson for the lead and claimed his 1st win of the season with Winfrey, Francis, early leader Shaw and johnson claiming the top 5 as a wild finish at the line involving several cars for spots.
 

The Winged Sprint Car feature had veteran Joe todd and rookie Kyle Bellm bring the fied to the start. Joe todd grabbed the early lead with young Bellm close behind. All eyes were on point leader and previous winner Clint Todd charging from the 11th starting spot. Out in front, Joe Todd set a quick pace with Bellm close behind .John Rowland, defending champion Eric Todd, Scott Wedelstadt, Erik Enneking and Steve Lawrence were battling for 3rd place. On lap 7,Clint Todd had charged up to within the top 5 and was coming quickly.On lap 10,Mike Larson got sideways in turn 1 bringing out the 1st yellow. On the restart,Joe Todd again shot ahead as Eric Todd moved into 2nd place with young Bellm hanging in 3rd.The yellow waved quickly as Clint Todd spun in turn 1 sending him to the back of the field.On the restart,Eric Todd powered to the inside of father Joe but Joe shot quickly off turn 2.The battle of father and son lasted the remaining 10 laps with Eric trying several moves,but Joe held off the charges and grabbed his 1st win of the season with Eric Todd, Bellm, Scott Wedelstadt and John Rowland in the top 5.

The modified feature again provided the crowd with great action up front as Jim Roach grabbed the opening lead to only have Eric Hudson take the top spot.On lap 2,Roach moved to the bottom and took over the lead as point leader Tony Jackson Jr and defending titlest Jamie Ragland were battling also. These 4 drivers kept the large crowd on there feet as Roach kept outside moves from Hudson at bay in commanding the lead. After a couple of quick cautions Roach would stay glued to the bottom as Hudson shot on the top groove as Jackson moved behind Roach on the bottom with Ragland jumpin to the top groove.This 4 car battle was so tight a blanket could be thrown over them.On lap 18,Hudson went to the top again and pulled into the lead, but Roach gathered it back to take the top spot again and held on for the win claiming his 2nd victory of the season followed closely by Jackson Jr, Hudson, Ragland and Wayne Graybeal.
 

The Superstock feature saw Donnie Gennings grab the early lead with point leader Ben Newell coming from the back to challange. On lap 3,Newell grabbed the top spot as JC Newell who had something break on his car after the heat race borrowed Randy Hill's car to keep him in the points race was challanging up front also. On lap 8,Gennnigs made a smooth move to the bottom of the track and took over the lead from Ben Newell. On lap 10,Ben Newell spun in turn 2 sending him to the back as JC Newell moved into 2nd place .From there, Gennings roared to his 3rd win of the season floowed by JC Newell,Travis Hill,Ben Newell, and Bill Joiner.
 

The Fastrak Late Model feature saw Tony Jackson Jr grab the lead on the opening lap and never looked back in recording his 1st Late Model feature of the season ending Ron Myers streak on the Midway. Jason Otto, Myers, Rustin Miller and Wesley Briggs completed the top 5.
 

The 100 Lap Enduro provided great action and thrills and spills to the crowd. On the start, Mike Wamsley grabbed the opening lead on the 3 wide start. Brian Webster then took over the lead on lap 3 with Dale Waters moving into 2nd place. On lap 5,the red flew as pole setter Mike Scott got his car upside down on the frontstretch. On the restart, Webster took control with Waters, Joe Francis, Sean Williams, Charlie Hart, Steve Shaw were battling for the money spots. Around lap 18 Francis moved around then leader Waters and this duo battled as Webster was holding 3rd with Charlie Hart, Shaw and others battling. The battle for the top spot between Waters and Francis ended around lap 32 as Waters caught the backstretchwall as he gathered it back-up to stay on the lead lap.The final red flew on lap 29 as an axel broke of and was on the track.On the standing still restart, Waters battled leader Francis to stay on the lead lap as Charlie Hart began to assert himself as a contender with Webster and Shaw on the lead lap.The Hart, Francis battle last several laps s traffic played a big part of the leaders run to the front.After contact in turn 1,Hart cut down a tire as attrition was palying on the field.On lap 70,Francis was leading with Webster,Shaw and then Steve Steinmark moving into the money spots.Hart returned out of the pits,but lost 6 laps in changing the tire.On lap 84,Webster's night ended shuffling the standing as Francis was the only car on the lead lap with Shaw running 1 lap down and Steinmark and young Grant Sharp were being shown on the leaders board.As Francis moved to the top groove to stay out of trouble,only problems would keep him out of the winners circle.As the checkered flew the finish would see Francis completing all 100 laps with Steve Shaw grabbing 2nd place and $500 only 2 laps down and a close finish for 3rd and 4th with Grant Sharp edging Steinmark for 3rd as both those drivers collected $250 each with both completing 95 laps.Charlie Hart drove to 5th completing 94 laps as the never give-up award went to Matt Dublin.He blew out a right rear tire early and rode it out to complete 85 laps running on only 3 tires.
 

Next Friday night the Midway will celebrate the Independence Holiday with a regular points show for all 6 classes as Energy Companies will sponsor the fireworks show during intermission with no increase to the grandstand admission.Gates open at 5 with hotlaps at 7 and racing at 8 sharp.
