by: Ronnie Williams

LEBANON, MO. (July 7, 2006) - With 80 race teams in the pits action was fast and close at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway Friday Night as 2 new winner claimed feature events.

The FactoryStock class provided some great action as the field of 21 took the green flag with point leader James Ellis taking the early lead with Mike Shaddy close behind. On lap 2,Fast Factory Champion Todd Cook moved into 2nd place and began to challange Ellis.Just as Cook made the pass for the lead, the yellow for Rich allen in turn 2.On the restart,Ellis and Cook went to battle as Cook made another pass,Mike Teeters spun in turn 2 bringing out a quick yellow.Again on the restart it was Ellis and Cook battling as Mike Shaddy and David Hendrix challanged for 3rd.On lap 6,Cook finally made the pass for the lead as Ellis stayed close behind while Hendrix moved around Shaddy into 3rd.On lap 8,Hendrix moved around Ellis into 2nd place and began his charge on leader Cook while Shaddy and Ellis battled as Troy White joined the fun.During the long green run,Hendrix began his charge to the front as Cook began to battle lapped traffic while behind the led duo,Shaddy,White,Dusty Rhoads and Ellis battled for position. On lap 16,with leader Cook protecting the bottom,Hendrix shot to the middle in turn 3 and took over the top spot as Cook charged back.Out in front,Hendrix who was trying to break the Midway jinx, started to pull away from Cook as Shaddy,Troy White,Rhoads and Chris Ratterree fighting for position.

As the field headed with 1 to go,Cook closed-up quickly and was making a move going into turn 3.With lapped traffic ahead,Hendrix shot to the inside with Cook going outside as a car spun right in front of the leaders with the checkered waving as Hendrix claimed his 1st festure win at the Midway."This track owed me a couple. In the visits down here,I have run good, but little things kept me from winning"quoted winner Hendrix."Last April the transmission went out during the $5,000 to win event as I was closing in on Cook, the last time I was here we were leading when something went wrong with the carb.so to say I am Happy, yes."
"The track was excellent, smooth and racy both and with 22 cars tonight, they gave us an extra 5 laps plus in the meeting they announced another 20 car field plus,it will pay more to win(400)so it is a good incentive.

In the Winged Sprint feature, veteran John Rowland jumped out to a big lead from his outside front row starting spot with rookie Kyle Bellm following.Rowland setting a very quick pace was looking for his 1st win of the season while the feature took the look of an all green event.Behind Rowland,Bellm,Matt Tatro were battling. On lap 10 of the 20 lap feature,Rowland was opening the lead even more as back in the pack the Todd family were racing each other for 5th place honors. On lap 11,last weeks winner and defending champion Eric Todd who started 11th of the scheduled 15 car field began his charge to the front with Rowland starting to encounter lapped traffic.Todd moved around Tatro on lap 13 for 3rd and then on lap 15 moved around runner-up Bellm and started his claim on leader Rowland. On lap 16,Rowland got sideways in traffic in turn 3 and Todd shot to the outside of Rowland to pull even with the race leader. On lap 17,Todd moved upstairs and grabbed the lead with Rowland close behind. As the lead duo raced it out,Eric Todd claimed the win in a green, white, checkered feature event as Rowland,Bellm, point leader Clint Todd, and Joe Todd completed the top 5.

The Modified feature would see Wayne Graybeal bring the field down to take the opening lap lead with defending champion Jamie Ragland close behind. On lap 2,Brian Schutt made his debut well known as he grabbed the top spot only to have Graybeal take command on lap 3.On lap 4,point leader Tony Jackson Jr made his pressence known as he moved around Schutt for 2nd place and set his sights on Graybeal. This battle continued until lap 9 when Jackson made a strong move on the bottom to take control with Graybeal, last weeks winner Eric Hudson and early leader Schutt following. On lap 11,defending champion Jamie Ragland recovering from an earlier incident had wored his way back up to contention as he glued himself to Jackson's bumper and the race was on.THis battle lasted until lap 17 when Jackson started pulling away to record his 2nd win of the season followed by Ragland,Graybeal,James Hatrman and Schutt.

The SuperStock feature went Green, white, checkered as Donnie Gennings jumped out to the early lead and held off a late surge from point leader Ben Newell to grab his 4th win of the season with Newell,Travis Hill,Mark Davis and Randy Hill completing the top 5 with good battles all throughout the pack.

The Bombers again provide plenty of excitement as Tyler Brown grabbed the early lead from his pole starting spot with Joe Francis hot on his bumper. On lap 3,Brown's axel broke away sending him out for the evening as Francis grabbed the lead with point leader Jack Hamer on his bumper battling. The top 2 became the top 5 as last weeks winner Mike Piercey came charging from 11th to challange along with Bily Waters and Missy Shaw. These 5 battled all race long with Francis coming up with his 1st win of the season followed closely by Piercey,Hamer,Waters and Shaw.

Tony Jackson Jr grabbed the lead on the opening lap to record the Fastrak LateModel feature followed by point leader Ron Myers,Jason Otto and Wesley Briggs.
Next up on the Midway is AMSOIL night with the Winged Sprints recieving $1,000 to the winner as it wil be a regular points showing meaning normal line-up procedures and extra lottery money for the other classes along with special givaways.Gates open at 5 with Hotlaps at 7 and racing at 8PM Sharp.

Also an incentive program is in effect for the modifieds and FactoryStocks meaning 20 cars or more in the feature and the Modified winner recieves $800 to win and the FactoryStock is 400 to win.Modified tire rule is the American Racer G60 KK704 or the Hoosier G60 IMCA Tire.
