LEBANON, MO. (Aug. 18, 2006) - Over 110 race teams checked into the pits for Racing action Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as the Show-Me Racin Series Late Models made there 1st appearance to the track an action packed event as Jim Fulp withstood a late charge from current series point leader Leslie Essary to grab the Late Model feature on a perfectly racing surface.

The 22 car starting grid previewed how the action was going to be before the packed grandstands with the traditional 4 wide salute.

As the green flew, Jordan Holloway jumped out to the early lead with Jeremy Kelley close behind as Fulp, Mike Hailman and others were treating the crowd to some 3 wide racing in the pack. The 1st Caution flew on lap 3 as Mark Bourey came to a stop. On the double file restart, Holloway jumped to the lead with Kelley close behind as Rick Lebow started his charge to the front with Hailman closing quickly. On lap 5,Fulp took his car to the front after a tight battle with leader Holloway. With Fulp setting a fast pace on the 3 groove racing surface, Hailman moved into 2nd place and closed-up on the leader.Back in the mid pack range,3 wide racing found Kelley, Ken Essary, Jimmy Greenway, Chad Smith, Leslie Essary all swapping spots back and forth. Up front Hailman had caught the leader Fulp and was moving quickly on the low groove as Fulp stayed upstairs.

This battle lasted close until lap 13 when Midway Fastrak regular Jason Otto got sideways in turn 4 bringing out the yellow. With Fulp leading the pack on the restart, Hailman started his charge again until the motor let go ending his night. As the field lined-up for a double file restart, Rick Lebow now became the new player in the game as Fulp shot quickly to the high-side as Lebow went downstairs with Ken Essary, Leslie Essary, Chad Smith and early leader Holloway close behind. On lap 18,Leslie Essary moved around Lebow and set his sights on leader Fulp. The final caution waved on lap 26 as Holloway stalled in turn 4 setting up a tight finish as Fulp brought the field down to the final green restart as Series point leader Leslie Essary closed-up the ground.
