Rain Cuts Program Short at SFCR, Forces Double Features!

FARMINGTON, Mo. (April 22, 2006) - Mother Nature played a major roll in the outcome of the races Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway by washing away the final two features of the evening.

One of the two features that was raced was the Pure Street class. In that feature "Rooster" Griffin of Potosi held off John Bohn of Farmington to take the checkered flag. Mike Abney Jr. of Belgrade finished third with Mike Savage fourth and Chris Boyd fifth. They were followed by Bill Skaggs, Travis Goodman, Josh Skaggs, Derrick Shipman, Paul Warren, Keith Kennon and Brian Henson.

In the first heat race Griffin was the winner with Abney second and Savage third. Boyd won the second heat with Goodman second and Bill Skaggs third.

In the 600cc Multi class, Casey Barnhouse of Farmington picked up his second feature win of the young season with Joey Boyd of Farmington second, Jimmy Stearns third, Jimmy Bridgeman fourth and Matt Dotson fifth. They were followed by David Chilton, Brandon Nixon, Ray Statler, Sam Miller, Lynda Blanke, Devin Reilly, Mark Shirshekan, Ryan Kempin, Joe Miller, James Scott and Brad Greer.

Barnhouse won the first heat with Shirshekan second and Chilton third. Kempin won the second heat with Jeremy Boyer second and Boyd third.

The Sprint and Modified features were both rained out and will be made up at the conclusion of this week's regular show.
This Saturday night is Radio Shack of Potosi Night and the Dwarf cars will also be racing along with the other regular classes. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 7. For more information go to: www.sfcr.net  or phone (573) 438-4546.
