Hurley Wins Sprint Feature, Stearns Takes $1,000 Multi Feature at SFCR

FARMINGTON, Mo. (July 15, 2006) - Jimmy Hurley of Springfield, Il. drove his #35 sprint car to victory lane Saturday night at the St. Francois County Raceway by holding off Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown, Mo. for the win. Tommy Worley Jr. of Farmington settled for third place with A.J. Bruns taking fourth and Terry Babb fifth. They were followed by Alex Shanks, Robbie Standridge, Steve Short, Tom Dickerman and Greg Burns.

Worley won the first heat race with Corey Bruns second and Billy Smith third. Babb won the second heat with Tim Montgomery second and Joey Montgomery third. Hurley won the third heat race with Bryan Matthews second and Shanks third. Hurley won the trophy dash with Tim Montgomery second and Worley third. Standridge won the "B" main with Bob Thoman second and Burns third.

In the Modified class feature, Jeremy Greenwalt of Potosi picked up his second feature win of the season with Billy Smith second, Tommy Worley Sr. third, Brent Thompson fourth and Kenny Kennedy fifth. They were followed by Kasey Nations, Kenny Harris, Matt Eaton, Jonathan Self and Jeff Hall Jr.
Greenwalt won the first heat race with Worley Sr. second and Hall Jr. third. Harris won the second heat with Smith second and Danny Resinger third. Self won the third heat with Thompson second and Tom Vogt third.

In the $1,000 to win 600cc Multi feature, Jimmy Stearns of Makanda, Il. picked up the big check and the checkered flag with Tony Roney second, Eric Edwards third, Jimmy Bridgeman fourth and Brad Greer fifth. They were followed by David Chilton, Thomas Chandler, Ryan Langston, Joe Miller and Eric Ziegler.
Stearns won the first heat with Edwards second and Bridgeman third. Greer won the second heat with Joey Boyd second and Jimmy McClain Jr. third. Roney won the third heat with Chandler second and Brandon Nixon third.

In the Pure Street feature it was Michael Abney of Belgrade taking the win with Bill Skaggs second, Brian Blair third, Charlie Savage fourth and Mike Savage fifth. They were followed by Paul Warren, Chris Boyd, Shaun Mackley, John Bohn and Paul Dart.

Skaggs won the first heat race with Mike Savage second and Brian Blair third. Abney won the second heat with Boyd second and Dart third.
