St. Francois County Raceway's Track Champions 2006

FARMINGTON, MO. (Sept. 23, 2006) - Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown, Mike Abney Jr. of Belgrade, Joey Boyd of Farmington and Brent Thompson of Park Hills are the 2006 track champions of the St. Francois County Raceway following the rain-out of the final night of points racing Saturday.

Montgomery won the Sprint class, Abney Jr. was the Pure Street champion, Boyd captured the 600cc Multi class title and Thompson was the winner of the Modified class.

The track champions and other top finishers in the four track classes will be honored at the track's annual banquet on Saturday, December 9th at the Elks Lodge in Potosi. Doors will open at 4 p.m. with dinner served at 5 and the awards ceremony at 6. Music will follow the awards ceremony. Top 10 places will be paid in each class. Tickets for the event are $15 each and are available at C&C Motorsports and their parts trailer at the track, Don's Radiator in Potosi, Ron's Tire of Farmington, Crown Equipment in Farmington and the Parts Store in Fredericktown.

Racing will continue at SFCR this Saturday night with "Cheater Night." This is also Fan Appreciation Night with a special "Nickel Race" for the kids.

The 2006 racing season at SFCR will conclude on Saturday, October 7th with the annual Queen's Royale.
