Rain Shower Couldn't Dampen Racers Desire

WEST PLAINS, MO (April 12) Haulers lined the pit road early on Saturday afternoon as a full field of Fastrak Late Models anxiously anticipated their first event of the season. Mixed into the rows were a good number of other racers also anxious to test their cars on the red clay at West Plains.

Unfortunately, light showers moved in after only a couple of classes had run their heats, but it appeared the front would be short lived and constant checking on the radar did provide good information and a fleet of track packers were quick to respond when the mist gave way to clearing skies.

The Fastrak Late Model Series event sponsored by Dillard-Fowlkes Motor Co., of Ash Flat and Melbourne, AR, certainly provided an entertaining event with three exciting heats and a 30-lap feature where 20 late models hit the track at the drop of the green.
