8th Annual Tony Roper Memorial at The Monett Speedway

MONETT Mo. (May 19) - The Grand Old Lady of race tracks will open it gates Sunday night for the 8th annual Tony Roper Memorial. Roper was killed in 2000 in a racing accident at Texas Motor Speedway, at the age of 35. The Roper's are from Fair Grove Mo.

The DLRA Late Models will be the headliner, making their 2nd appearance of the season at the Monett Speedway. Drivers expected to attend are points leader Al Purkey, Monett Speedway points leader, Brad Looney, Rusty Dukes, Terry Phillips, Jeremy Payne, Will Vaught, Justin Wells, Leslie Essary, Ken Essary, and many more. The main event will be 40 laps with the winner taking home the $2000.00 pay check.

The Modifieds will also be on hand with the winner getting $1000.00. Factory Stock winner will receive $400.00, and the Bomber class will pay $200.00. Rookies winner will receive $100.00 Go to monettspeedway.net for full payouts.

Gates will open at 5:00, with racing action to begin at 7:30. Grandstand admission will be $17.00 for adults, $5.00 for juniors, 12 and under are free. Pit passes will be $30.00.
