Neuman Grabs First I-44 USRA Modified Feature

LEBANON, MO (July 19) - Former USRA modified and current point leader Justin Neuman grabbed the opening lead Sat night at the I-44 Speedway and never looked back in topping the Modified Main Event.Neuman took advantage of his front row pole spot and got a quick jump over Car Builder Scotty Allen in a caution free feature event as the best battle was between Jimmy Willis and Don Luna for the third spot as they ran several laps side by side before Willis took the spot late in the race with Luna and Corey Simpson completed the top 5.

The FactoryStock feature had several laps of wheel to wheel action as Lonnie Henderson grabbed the opening lead and raced side by side with Derek Brown to grab his third win of the season.Current point leader Matt Brookshire fell out early after spinning in turn 3 and ending his night.behind the lead duo Rob White,Keith Webster and Justin Stoufer completed the top 5.

The B-Modified feature had several close racing packs as Paul Williams grabbed the early lead with Kris Jackson close behind followed by Brian Monnahan.Back in the pack Trent Harrison and Jeff Kingsley were charging through the field until problems took both drivers out in lap 5.Following a couple of yellows,Williams was strong until Kris Jackson made the low groove pass stick on lap 6 to take the lead.Behind the lead duo a tight battle with Jason Otto,Monnahan and current point leader Josh Woody along with Brandon Pister as those drivers were swapping spots. On lap 12,Monnahan bobbled as Pister spun ending his strong run.Out in front Kris Jackson would drive away to grab his first win of the season with Otto,Woody,Monnahan and early leader Williams completing the top 5.

The WingedSprintCar feature saw an early battle beween Galvin Galbreath and JP Compton until lap 4 when Compton powered away in taking his 1st I-44 win of the season as Galbreath,John Wagner Jr,Scott Wedelstadt and Matt Tatro completed the top 5.

The SuperStock feature was a race with attrition involved as Ben Newell drove to his first win of the season over JC Newell,Bennie Joiner and Bill Joiner completed the field.

The Race of the night was with the Bombers as Heath Loney grabbed the opening lead until lap 3 when point leader Joe Francis grabbed the lead with previous winner Dennis Jones following closely. On lap 7,Jones went to the high-side and grabbed the lead as they raced wheel to wheel.Francis took back control on lap 8 as Tim jones who started outside row 1 had fell back as far as 6th was coming quickly.Jones used the high groove on lap 10 and went around both Francis and Dennis Jones to capture his first ever feature win with Dennis Jones,Francis a fast moving Patric West and Rodney yost completing the top 5.

The Rookie Class was very exciting as Jeff Brown grabbed the opening lead with Greg Wall close behind. On lap 5 with Brown pulling away, wild action behind the leader would find Matt Darnell going to second with Wall dropping to third. On lap 8,Darnell suffered a flat tire giving Wall the second place spot as Dane Bartle and Les Hayes fought for third place. On the final lap,Wall made a last lap effort to take the lead, but Brown held on to capture the win followed by Wall,Bartle,Hayes and Darnell.
