Racing to Start at 7:05pm in 2010

WHEATLAND, MO (February 16, 2010) - Officials with Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri are pleased to announce a new 7:05pm starting time for the 2010 Racing Season. Racing events in past seasons at the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" have typically started at 7:30pm. "As a family friendly venue that produces the top dirt track racing in the nation, we felt that moving the starting time up a bit would allow many of our younger race fans the chance to stay until the completion of the event without missing any of the racing action." stated Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson. The Pit Gates will continue to open at 4:00 with the Grandstand Gates scheduled for a 5:00pm opening on the majority of events in 2010. The cutoff for driver pill draw will also be moved up to 6:00pm with Hot Laps scheduled to get underway promptly at 6:30. Opening Ceremonies this year will start at 7:00 with racing set to begin at 7:05pm.

In addition to the earlier start times, a new twist for 2010 will see the previous week's feature winners carrying the American Flag during the National Anthem. "This is something I grew up watching and I think it's important to recognize the previous week's winners." stated Robinson. "It gives them a little something extra to look forward to the next week and it also gives them some additional exposure for their valued sponsors."

The 2010 Lucas Oil Speedway Season kicks off on April 10th as the Lucas Oil MLRA makes their first of four appearances of 2010 along with the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds. The first Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Championship Series Race of the season takes place on April 17th as the Transport Graphics Late Models, the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and the Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks begin the season long battle for the Lucas Oil Speedway Track Championship.
