Winged Sprint Cars Return To Springfield Raceway In Dual Challange Sat night

SPRINGFIELD, MO (May 4) - The high-power and speed of 360 WingedSprint Car racing returns Sat night to the Springfield Raceway for the only scheduled appearance of the 2010 season.

The Lucas Oil Sooner Regional Series will battle the drivers from the Missouri-based Winged Outlaw Warriors (WOW) in a neutral track as they challenge the Quick-Quarter mile dirt track.

 Drivers from Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas are expected to compete in what many people call the raciest track in the state.

 This will be the third stop on the Winged Outlaw Warrior (WOW) tour for 2010 and the first return visit in over 2 years at the track.After two events this season Sedalia hotshoe Jonathan Cornell heads-up the point standings with a 2 point lead over 4 time series champion Randy Martin of California,Mo. and Eric Todd of Falcon,Mo. Todd who competed at the track back in the 305 Sprint Car class will find the track different from his past experiences. Defending WOW champion Josh Fisher is currently fourth in the point standings only 10 points behind. After 2 events the WOW has 18 drivers that have competed in both races this season.Local drivers Kyle Bellm of Nixa is 12th in the standings and will find this the shortest tow for his 14K Bellm Racing Team.Other local drivers expected to compete include Springfield's Brad Graham in his 04 Sprinter.

 The Lucas Oil Sooner Region visited the speedway last season for the first time ever last season with 2 time Sooner Regional Champion Brian McClelland hold off National tour driver Zach Chappell and Donnie Ray Crawford for the win. Current point leader and defending Regional Champion Joe Wood Jr. holds a very slim lead over young hard charger Nick Smith with Kansas driver Tony Bruce Jr,Kenneth Walker and Andy Shouse completing the top 5.This will be the third stop on the Sooner Regional Tour as the Drivers will be at Outlaw Motor Speedway on Friday night while the WOW will be at LA Raceway Friday Night.

 Also competing in points races will be the SportMods,Legend Cars,StreetStocks and the MidWest Modz with added money to the top 3 spots in each class.Drivers will draw for positions in the heats and will run under Passing points heads-up in all 3 classes.

 The Grandstand gates open at 5 with hotlaps set for 6PM with Racing to start at 7PM. Pigates will open around 4PM.

 Adult Admission is $15 in the Grandstands with kids 6-12 $5 and 5 and under Free.Pitpasses are $30.
