Eric Turner Wins Fourth Event of 2010

HERMITAGE, MO (May 12) – Eric Turner picked up his fourth feature triumph of the season behind the wheel of his #99 Rushin Towing/Swaffords Amoco/GRT/Hatfield Racing Engine Super Late Model on Saturday night at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma.

Last weekend, Eric entered the 2nd Annual Heartland Showdown, which featured a four race miniseries, where the NCRA Super Late Models and MARS Super Late Models went head to head.  He opened the series on Thursday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas.  Thirty-five cars signed in for battle in the $3,000 to win event. After winning his heat race, Turner started third in the feature. Early in the event he would move up to the second spot as he began to battle Terry Phillips for the lead. Turner would challenge Phillips for the duration of the feature before recording a solid, second place finish.

The team was in action on Friday night at Creek County Speedway in Tulsa, Oklahoma for Round #2 of the Heartland Showdown. Twenty-nine cars entered the event, and Eric struggled in his heat race to a 5th place finish, which forced him to the b-main event, which he won. After winning the b-main event, Eric started in the seventeenth starting spot on the feature grid and went on to make a run through the field to a solid 4th place finish.

Saturday night found team in action at Brills Motor Speedway in Meeker, Oklahoma on a night where things would go great for Eric and the team. After winning his heat race, Eric started third in the feature. He battled in the top five early in the event before overtaking race leader, Jack Sullivan, on the tenth circuit, and he never looked back en route to the feature win, which was his fourth of the 2010 season!

Sunday night's finale for the Heartland Showdown was nixed by Mother Nature at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri and rescheduled for this Sunday, May 16th

On the heels of his weekend performances, Eric is currently the M.A.R.S. point’s leader.

The upcoming weekend will be another busy one for the team as they plan to enter three Super Late Model events.  On Friday, May 14th Eric will be in action at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma in a $3,000 to win, M.A.R.S. Super Late Model event.

On Saturday, the action shifts to Nevada Speedway in Nevada, Missouri for a $2,500 to win, Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Model event, and the weekend will conclude on Sunday, May 16th at Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri, as the finale of the Heartland Showdown is held with a $3,000 top prize on the line.
