Ben Solberg, Jamie Ragland, and Jeremy Kelley Score Lucas Oil Speedway Feature Wins
by Dan Robinson

WHEATLAND, MO (August 14, 2010) - Jeremy Kelley, Jamie Ragland, and Ben Solberg led the charge on a warm August night at Lucas Oil Speedway to capture feature wins in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Jack Simmons out of Erie, Kansas scored the win in the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racing Feature event.

In the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Jeremy Kelley started on the pole in his black #04 GRT Race Car and scored the win, but it was not easy as a hard charging Vance Wilson was glued to his bumper throughout the race and across the AAA Start/Finish Line as he pressured Kelley for the win. Wilson had to settle for second however at the finish. Local Favorite Andy Kennedy out of Wheatland, Missouri drove all day back from the Knoxville Nationals to score a third place finish and retain his second spot in the season long Lucas Oil Speedway Points Standings. Browning, Missouri's Tommy Cordray started sixth and finished fourth retaining an 88 point lead in the season long points battle while Springfield's R.D. Peterson had a strong run to finish in fifth from his eighth starting spot.

The Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds had it's share of excitement as 9-time winner in 2010 Jesse Stovall charged from his fourth starting position to take the apparent win with Jamie Ragland crossing the stripe in second and Hermitage, Missouri's Eric Turner following in the third spot. Stovall failed post-race inspection however handing the win to Ragland with Turner moving up to the second spot in the official finishing order. Jason Pursley, Terry Kirk, and Jon Sheets finished third through fifth in the revised finish. Stovall continues to hold a 134 point lead with just three races remaining over Macks Creek, Missouri's Shawn Nations, who pulled off with two laps to go due to mechanical troubles resulting in a 13th place finish.

The Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks were led across the line by third starting Ben Solberg out of Springfield, Missouri in the white and red #72. Billings, Missouri's James Flood returned for a second week in a row after winning last Saturday night to score the second spot at the finish with Warrensburg, Missouri's Mark Carter capturing the third position at the finish. Randy Gilmore and Chris Tonoli filled out the Top-5 as Gilmore clings to a 26 point lead over Neosho, Missouri's Chris Hawkins.

Jack Simmons scored the win in the visiting Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racing Series Main Event. Complete and Updated results for the MOVR can be found at www.movr.us.
