Stake Tops Modified Feature And Season Title At Midway As Keepper Grabs Factorys And Troutman Getss Title

LEBANON, MO (September 24, 2010) - Despite heavy overnight rains,the season championships were held Friday Night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway with outstanding racing action all evening long.

 The first championship to be decided was in the Central Bank FactoryStocks as the title was gonig right down to the wire between Ben Solberg and Tyson Troutman with both drivers starting on the front row.Solberg grabbed the opening lead with Troutman and Tim Jones following closely.With Solberg setting a blistering pace,a fast moving Sundance Keepper who started back in 7th place was wasting no time in marching to the front pack.On lap 3,Keepper charged around Troutman to grab second place and Colt Cheevers was challanging Troutman for third as Troutman was trying to hang on to the points lead.Up front Solberg was riding the top groove quickly as Keepper had closed up the gap.On lap 6 Solberg's car had slowed and Keepper got to within 2 car lengths before the car came back to power.On lap 11 disaster came to the leader Solberg was he got on the very top cushion going into turn 3 with lapped traffic right in front and Keepper applying pressure.Solberg's car shot to the wall with severe damage ending his night and hopes for a championship.This put Keepper in the lead with Troutman now in second place followed by Cheevers and a fast moving Doug Rich.On the restart,Sundance pulled away to grab the win as Troutman was able to pul away from the challanges of Cheevers to take home second with Cheevers,Rich and Tim Jones following.Troutman claimed the season long championship title to become the 6th different track champion in the FactoryStock class.Central Bank of Lebanon provided lottery money for drawings for drivers outside the top 3 with Rich,Chriss Wynn and Mark Davis take home some extra money.

 The Energy Company Modifieds rolled out with another title up for grabs as point leader Michael Stake and Tyler Brown brought the field to the green flag as Brown grabbed the opening lead as Stake stayed close.On lap 2,Stake made the pass back for the lead as Brown found Colt Cheevers close behind with Eric Tinderholt,Shawn Strong and JC Morton following.Stake would start to pull away only to see the pack close again on the leader.On lap 6,Morton pulled to the infield with problems ending his night as Shawn Strong was trying the high side along with Ted Ballinger.Stake started to pull away from the field on lap 8 leaving the field to battle for second place.Strong working the top side had moved all the way to third place before he jumped the cushion in turn 3 sending him backwards.Brown was holding on to second as Tinderholt moved around Cheevers to grab third place as Cheevers and Ballinger followed.Stake in his second season of driving claimed the season title and his set to defend his Coca-Cola Fall brawl championship next weekend.Central bank also provided lottery money as Ballinger,Morton and Mike Jones grabbed extra money.

 The Coldwell Banker StreetStocks always provide outstanding action as Joe Francis had already wrapped up his second title brought the field to the green with Brandon Waters on his outside.Francis took the early lead as Brandon and Billy Waters followed.Francis found the competition tough tonight as Rodney Yost,Monk Barker and Keith Cheever were battling.On lap 5,Yost had moved into the second place honors and applied pressure to Francis as the Waters Brothers,Monk Barker and a fast moving Melvin Smith were battling.After several moves,Yost fell back behind Francis until the last yellow waved on lap 12.Yost made several attempts,but Francis held on to grab the win followed closely by Yost,Brandon Waters,Billy Waters and Melvin Smith as 13 of the 17 starters finished on the lead lap.Town and Country Realestate provided extra money as Billy Waters,Josh Lewis and Keith Cheever positions were draw for extra money.

 The PureStocks rolled out 18 strong under a full moon as 2010 point champion Kory Barker brought the field to the green as Robert Doublin followed closely along with last weeks winner Matt Young.On lap 2,Young slowed with a flat tire as Brian Warner slowed with damage going into the pitroad.This bunched the field up and on the restart,the leader Barker started to slow as Robert Doublin moved on the top groove to grab the lead with Adam Lowrance quickly followed and Shorty Doublin along with a quick moving Elijah Keepper following.Robert Doublin started to pull away as brother Shorty Doublim moved into second place on lap 7 as Keepper in the Police Crusier followed.Danny Caffey was charging through the field and moved into the top 4 by lap 11.Keepper moved into second place on lap 9 and set his sights on R Doublin.Doublin held on to take his second win of the season with Keepper,Caffey,S Doublin and Lowrance in the top 5  as 12 of the 18 starters finished on the lead lap.Barker took the championship honors as Town and Country Realestate provided extra money with Stacy Burns,Les Hayes and Jason Brumley taking the extra money.The PureStocks provided 3 wide racing all night long and have become a crowd favorite every week.

 Rocky Ridge Construction Sportsman action saw JC Newell grab the opening lead over point leader Ben Newell as Bennie Joiner following quickly.JC Newell kept to the high-side.Lap after lap Ben Newell tried the low side to make the move around father JC as Joiner was waiting in the shawdows.JC jumped the cushion on lap 9 allowing Ben to pull even as Sam Petty and Donnie Betts were battling.Side by sdie the Newell family raced until the caution waved on lap 11 as Donnie Betts blew a motor down the frontstretch.This gave Ben one last shot at the win,but JC kept on the top groove to take the victory with Ben Newell,Bennie Joiner,Sam Petty and Jeff Scroggins following.Rocky Ridge Construction provided extra money as Scroggins,Jamie Petty and Clinton Betts took home the extra money.

 The Midwest Modz saw Garfields Rest at the Branson Landing along with Transport Graphics and Rob Burgess providing extra money.The biggest field of the season checked into the pits as drivers qualified through their heats.Veteran Earl Muilenburg took the opening lead with point champion JC Newell following.Newell took the to spot on lap 3 as Muilenburg stayed right on his side with Lamar Newman,Trevor Drake and Rich Reynolds following.The action was side by side lap after lap as quietly Drake moved into contention.Caution waved on lap 11 as Shane Bias spun bunching the field up.On the restart,Drake moved to the low groove and pulled even with Newell several times as Newell stayed on the top groove.Heading to the final lap,Drake made the low groove stick solid and pulled even going into turn 3.The leader came into turn 4 even as Newell kept the top groove to his advantage and took home the win by less than 2 car lengths over young Drake with early leader Muilenburg close in third with Newman and Reynolds following.Reynolds position gave him the Kwik-Skin Graphics award for the evening.Newell took home the championship honors in this first year class.

 Up next at the Midway will be the season ending popular 2 day Coca-Cola Fall Brawl.

 Friday night will feature qualifying heats and pole dashes for the B-Mods,FactoryStocks,StreetStocks and Purestocks.The Sportsman class will run heats and a feature event along with the kids Jr 1 karting class competing on the go-kart track.

 Sat Night will see the return of the high-powered A-Modifieds comprting in time trials heats and feature event.Feature events and last chance races for the FactoryStocks,B-Modifieds,StreetStocks and Purestocks and a full show for the Midwest Modz.

 Friday night hotlaps start at 7:05 with racing at 8PM.

 Sat night hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30 sharp.
