Springfield Raceway Turkey Classic Shaping Up To Be Another Stellar Event

SPRINGFIELD, MO (November 23, 2010) - The 2010 Edition of the Turkey classic at the Springfield Raceway is shaping up to be another stellar season ending event on Sat November 27th as many of the area's and Midwest top drivers are showing interest in this race event.

 Weather looks to be Sunny and around 50 plus degrees Sat and that should bring out the best in alll 4 classes.

 The LateModel field will be headed by defending champion and National dirt Hall of Famer Ken"The Flying Farmer"Essary as he brings his Show-Me Racing Series spec Motor into the Quick-Quarter challanging the likes of Justin Wells,MLRA Points runner-up Brad Looney,Rylan Long,Brandon McCormick,Dustin Walker,Matt Johnson,Justin Asplin and 30 plus more LateModel division drivers from Missouri,Arkansas,The Bootheel Portion of Missouri,Illinois,Oklahoma and surrounding states.

 The tough weekly competition of the weekly A-Mods featuring 2010 champion Mitch Keeter,3 time Champion Jackie Dalton,Jody Tillman,Erik Maggard,Brian Green and others will see top Modified drivers such as Kansas veteran Rick Beebe,Central Missouri Speedway Champion Jason Thompson of Concordia,Southern Missouri standout Paul Reeden,Webb City's Scotty Drake,Josh Stevens,West Plains Speedway front runners Rustin Miller,Scott Crigler,Jason Pursley of Wheatland,Central Missouri standout Dean Willie,and a host of others battling for the top prize money as all 4 classes of cars will be star-studded as SportMods and Legends will provided outstanding side by side action also

 

Last season this event drew over 160 plus race teams to the quick-quarter under perfect weather conditions as LateModels,A-Mods,B-Mods and Legends were involved.Ken Essary(LateModels),Steve Martin(A-Mods),Billy Street(B-Mods) and Dave Bauer(Legends) took home the honors over star-studded fields.

 This season the speedway will be again be holding an auction to help Autism.Autism affects every 1 in 150 children born.Some of the items that will be auctioned off will include Chase Authentics Drivers Line Bass Pro Shop Jackets,Autographed Hats and crew shirts from Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 winner Jamie McMurray from Joplin, an autographed shield from McMurray and other items.Money raised from this auction will go to the Ozark Center for Autism in Joplin,Mo.

 The Pitgate will open at 10AM with the drivers meeting at 1PM.Hotlaps start at 1:30 and Racing begins around 2:30.Draw for heats will end at 1:15 and any cars later than that will not recieve any passing points.Passing points will help set the feature line-ups with the top 8 in each class redrawing for their starting spots.PitPasses will be $35.

 The Grandstands will open at Noon and Adult Admission will be $15.

 This season LateModels,A-Mods,B-Mods, and Legends will again headline the popular November event.LateModels will run under the MARS/MLRA Rules with Hoosier WRS D55 or the Hoosier LM 40 tire being allowedShow-Me Racin Series legal cars may run a 10 inch spoiler and a 100 weight break while battling for the $2,000 to win/$275 to start feature.LateModel entry fee will be $80 and drivers not advancing to the A feature from the last chance races will recieve $80.

 The High-horsepower of the A-mods will see drivers battle for the $1,000 to win/$200 to start feature.USRA Rules along with SpringfieldRaceway rules will apply.Drivers may run either the American Racer KK704 or Hoosier IMCA Stamped G60.A mods entry fee will be $40 while drivers who don't advance into the A Main through the last chance races will recieve $60.

 SportMods or B-Mods will attempt to grab the  $400 to win/$70 to start main event.SpringfieldRaceway rules apply along with IMCA Northern SportMods or IMCA Southern SportMods.No spoilers allowed in the B-Mod class.Tires are American Racer KK704 or Hoosier Stamped IMCA G60.SportMods entry fee will be $20 while drivers who do not advance through the last chance races take home $40.Several extra sponsors are being gathered to help out in the payoff for the cars running the Spec motor in the SportMod class

 LegendsCars take to the track in the $300 to win and $35 to start feature while no entry fee is charged to this class.
