Lucas Oil Speedway Releases Tentative 2011 Racing Schedule Highlighted by 3 Events on CBS Sports

WHEATLAND, MO (November 29, 2010) - Lucas Oil Speedway Officials are pleased to release the tentative 2011 Lucas Oil Speedway Event Schedule. There are several big changes in store for 2011 at the "Diamond of Race Tracks" including the addition of the most talked about event since last season's Show-Me 100, that being the Inaugural Diamond Drag Boat Nationals on the brand new Liquid Quarter Mile currently being constructed just south of the existing dirt track. Barring any unforeseen weather related construction delays, this Inaugural event is scheduled to take place on July 29th-31st with the cameras of CBS Television taping all of the racing action of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series. Facility improvements awaiting fans include a brand new Go-Kart Slick track located just west of the existing grandstand complex as well as a new 2-story bar/party deck facility located in Turns 1 and 2 with an additional 500 seats as well. "The 2011 Season will be be one to remember as we not only have some of the biggest dirt track specials in the history of the speedway but with the addition of the new Drag Boat Lake and the ongoing facility expansion and enhancements, you won't want to miss a moment of the action," stated General Manager Dan Robinson. "We are hoping to make several more announcements concerning programs and sponsorships in the coming weeks as well, so please be sure to visit www.LucasOilSpeedway.com for all the details."

Returning to the Lucas Oil Speedway after a short hiatus will be one appearance each in 2011 by the POWRi National Midget Series on April 30th and a return of the USMTS Modifieds on Saturday, August 13th. One of Dirt Late Models Racing's Crown Jewel events, the 19th Annual DART Show-Me 100 will once again take place on Memorial Day Weekend along with the 5th Annual Diamond Nationals on July 16th. In addition, the Lucas Oil MLRA opens the season as is tradition on Saturday April 9th and will run a huge event in conjunction with the Drag Boat Weekend on Saturday, July 30th on the Dirt Track. Finally, the season wraps up with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Truck and Tractor Pull in September along with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Race on Saturday, September 24th. A full slate of Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Series Championship action is on tap as one of the Nation's top weekly programs kicks off on April 16th and wraps up on Labor Day weekend with the Crowning of the Class Champions in the TNT Quick Shop Late Models, Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds, and Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks respectively. Ticket prices and reservation information will be released soon for the 2011 Special Events.

The biggest race of the season kicks off on May 26th as the 19th Annual DART Show-Me 100 rolls into Wheatland for the second time after capacity crowds jammed the facility in 2010. Additional seating in Turns 1 and 2 along with a new two story bar/party deck complex are expected to be completed prior to this event to handle the large crowds and to enhance the fan experience. We take a break on July 2nd so fans can spend time with their families at the local fireworks shows, but racing resumes on Saturday, July 9th as our weekly drivers continue their Championship battle. The second biggest Late Model race of the season hits the track on July 16th as the "The Newport Nightmare" Jimmy Owens and the rest of the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series come to town for the 5th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals. Quite possibly the biggest weekend in the history of the Speedway takes place on July 29th-31st as the first ever Diamond Drag Boat Nationals take to the Liquid Quarter Mile for the first time ever. This Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series National Event is highlighted by Top Fuel Hydro Boats capable of reaching speeds in excess of 250 miles per hour. A full compliment of Sportsman and Pro Classes will be in action all three days as Friday, July 29th is scheduled as a "Test and Tune" day followed by Qualifying on Saturday, July 30th, and Eliminations on Sunday, July 31st. If that wasn't enough, the Lucas Oil MLRA and the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds will also take to the "Diamond of Dirt Tracks" on Saturday evening, July 30th. This is going to be one full weekend of racing action!  Visit www.LucasOilDragBoats.com for info on the Nation's Premier Drag Boat Racing Series.

August starts off with an off week on August 6th, but we don't stay down for long as the Casey's General Stores USMTS Modified HUNT for the National Championship rolls into town on Saturday, August 13th along with the SportMods, and the Factory Stocks. A stellar field of the best modified drivers in country are expected to be in attendance including 2010 National Champion Jason Hughes, Kelly Shryock, Zach Van Der Beek, Derek Rameriz, Ryan Gustin, and Tommy Meyer just to name a few. Local Stars Jesse Stovall, Shawn Nations, and Jason Pursley are just a few of the Lucas Oil Speedway racers looking to keep the USMTS loot here locally. The Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racing Series makes their second and final appearance of the season on Saturday, August 20th while a Special Double Points night is scheduled for Saturday, August 27th.
