LEBANON, MO (April 5, 2011) - The season long chase for the championship gets underway Friday Ngiht at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as the battle for the honor of being crowned a track champion begins.

Action will feature the Aaron's Sales and Lease B-Mods,Central Bank FactoryStocks,Energy Company PureStocks,Rocky Ridge Construction Midwest Modz and Transport Graphics StreetStocks with the gates opening at 5PM and hotlaps to begin at 7:05 with the racing action starting at 8PM.

Defending track champions include Houston's Tyson Troutman(FactoryStocks),Phillipsburg's Michael Stake(B-Mods),Lebanon's Kory Barker(PureStocks),Stoutland's Lil JC Newell(Midwest Modz) and Lebanon's Joe Francis(StreetStocks). For 2010 this was the first Midway Championship titles for all except Francis as he grabbed his first Midway title in 2009.The FactoryStock Class has never had a repeat champion since the Speedway started in 2005 For Stake a former go-kart area champion it was his first title in only his second season behind a Modified as he nipped Tyler Brown last season for the honor.Lil JC Newell has the honor of becoming the youngest champion in Midway Stockcar history with his win last season while Kory Barker grabbed the top spot around mid season and hung on despite a late surge from Adam Lowrance.

Looking at 2011-The FactoryStock class will again be a tough division as James Flood of Billings has taken over the Ben Solberg ride this season and captured last weekend's Spring Fling opener.2009 Champion Bob Gustin of Osage Beach has expressed interest in running again full time this season and add former champion Tim Petty of Niangua,Regular Mark Davis of Grovesprings,Tim Jones of Marshfield and Josh Franklin of Camdenton in the Lebanon Sponsored Waterman Trucking car will be tough. This class has never had a repeat champion.

Modified drivers Michael Stake and Tyler Brown should go head to head again but JC Morotn with good luck early in the season could provide plenty of competition.Lebanon residents Lonnie Henderson,Derek Cook,Kris Jackson and Tommy McBride and newcomer Brennon Willard could provide an exciting points race along with Veteran JC Newell in the Modified class.

PureStock champion Kory Barker will see plenty of tough competition as brother Kolt Barker comes back to the class and Lebanon's Shorty Doublin flexed his muscle last weekend as only a flat tire kept him from winning the feature.Robert Doublin,Matt Young,Doug Phelps and Danny Caffey will keep things interesting along with others in this very exciting class.

Joe Francis is trying to become the first driver in Midway history to pull a 3-peat championship but will find lots of competition from Rodney Yost of Squires, last season's runner-up Brandon Waters,Billy Waters of Lynchburg,Lebanon's Monk Barker and many others as drivers are working to get their cars finished including Lebanon's Trevor Ellingson and former champion Brandon Knutdson.

Lil JC Newell dominated the newly former Midwest Modz class last season, but already has seen the numbers grow in this class.Rich Reynolds of Halltown,Lebanon's Adam Lowrance,Bill Joiner, former PureStock champion Les Hayes of Camdenton and if he runs regular Joplin's Bobby Gough will give the 3rd generation driver a hand full.
