Night Number Two went in the Books for 2011

WINSTON, MO (April 23, 2011) - The day started off as an unknown on whether
we could get tonight's show in but track owner Mike Johnson and old mother
nature got the track into race shape as night number two went in the books
for 2011.
After a week off some of the drivers were a little antsy in the IMCA Sport
Mods. KCMO driver Mike Tanner worked his way around JJ Baumli to take the
win tonight. Baumli gave Tanner all he could handle but Baumli also had to
hold off Ben Stockton who took home third in his second race back. Anthony
Asher and John Fugett were fourth and fifth.
The IMCA Hobby Stock feature had two rollovers, Alexis Whitney from Trenton
Missouri and Shannon Anderson from Iowa. Both drivers were unharmed. When
the smoke cleared Trenton Missouri Greg Kuehn emerged victorius. Kuehn had a
good battle with Matthew Lance and the race wasn't decided till the last
lap. Billie Hoover, Jeremy turner and Wes Fuller rounded out the top five.
After a DNF last week defending Grand National track champion Dean Wray from
Jamesport Missouri found himself back in victory lane. Wray led most of the
race holding off Mike Taylor Jr., Mike Jones, Mike Ryun and Buz Kaster.
Jamesport Missouri's Jeff Dixon had a hard year last year, but this year is
starting off great for him. Last year he battled cancer and as of March 14th
he kicked it in the rear. Tonight Jeff kicked the other competitors in the
stock car class in the rear. Dixon motored his way to victory lane holding
off Brad Derry, Josh Steele, Jake Cameron and Gene Stigall.
Another Jamesport native Colby Dixon led a race high 19 of 20 laps in the
IMCA Modifieds. The problem was the lap he didn't lead was the one that
counted...lap 20. Dixon lost a drive shaft as he entered turn four and
Darren Shaw from Kearney Missouri motored past to pick up the win. Steven
Glenn was second with last weeks winner Todd Wilson, Cory Wray and Perry
Milbourn in tow.
