Keepper Takes Midway Factory $$$ While Kris Jackson Grabs Mod Win

LEBANON, MO (May 27, 2011) - After two straight weeks of weather winning, action got back underway with a special $500 to win feature for the Central Bank FactoryStocks as Sundance Keepper held off a strong surge from Burl Woods in taking his second win of the season and grabbing the extra money event.

The track provided excellent racing and after timing in fastest and winning his heat race,Sundance Keepper brought the field to the green with Tyson Troutman close behind.Burl Woods moved around Troutman on lap 2 and began his charge on the leader Keepper while Donnie Miller began his move to the front while tight battles were behind invloving several cars.Keepper and Woods started pulling away by lap 5,while Miller moved into third and began his charge to the front.THe race's first caution waved on lap 11 for sheetmetal bunching the field up.On the restart,Woods went from the bottom groove to the top groove and was pulling even as he and Keepper went side by side as Miller was coming quickly with the battle for fourth swapping. After trying for three straight laps,Woods was setting Keepper up for the pass just as the caution wved on lap 14 setting up a 1 lap shootout for the win.Keepper took advantage of this late yellow and took home the win with Woods,Miller a hard charging Andrew Roark coming from 9th and Troutman in the top 5.

The Aaron's Modified feature had Charlie Gentile grab the opening lead as three wide racing saw Kris Jackson and Andrew Smith following. On lap 2,Jackson made a nice move under Gentile out of turn 2 to grab the lead as a 3 wide battle saw point leader Michael stake,Smith,SpringfieldRaceway point leader Bobby Maggard Jr and Tyler Brown battling.Jackson started pulling away as Gentile and Stake went to battle until Stake made the pass on lap 6.Despite two late restarts,it was all Kris Jackson with the win as Stake held for a solid runner-up spot with Bobby Maggard Jr just nipping Gentile at the line for third while Gentile and a fast moving Andrew Smith following closely.

The Energy Company PureStocks saw action all night long as Kolt Barker grabbed the opening lead with defending champion Kory Barker following along with Matt Young,Shorty Doublin and St James driver Ricky Cross in his Mopar. On lap 4,Kolt Barker got to low in turn 4 as he slipped from 1st to fourth as Kory Barker moved into the top spot with Young and Shorty Doublin following. The Red Flag waved on lap 5 as Cross who was coming quickly got the car on its side and then on its roof in turn 4.Cross was able to walk away and checked over.On the restart,Kory Barker would find Kolt Barker applying pressure as Shorty Doublin moved around Young to grab third place. On lap 11,Kolt's chance for a win came to a slow halt as a flat tire sent him to the pits as rookie Brandon Henderson spun in turn 4 bunching up the field. On the restart,Doublin pulled up to the leader Kory Barker while Young was lurking in the wings.Lap 14 saw Shorty's chance for a win go south as a falt tire sent him out as Young took over second while Kolt Barker was comnig fast.Kory Barker survived the late restart by holding off a fast moving Kolt to grab the win with Kolt Barker,Young, point leader Monk Barker and Robert Doublin completing the top 5.

Rocky Ridge construction Midwest Modz action had points runner-up Rich Reynolds grab the opening lead only to see him get loose in turn 4 allowing Bill Joiner to take the lead.On lap 3,Veteran Earl Muilenburg shot around Joiner to take command as Sam Petty followed while Reynolds stayed close.Muilenburg and Petty would run the rest of the 15 lap feature close with Reynolds showing a late race charge. While Muilenburg picked the low line,Petty began moving to the top groove and closed-up distance in the last 4 laps as Reynolds was closing in.As the lead duo took the white flag,Petty pulled up to Muilenburg's rear quarter panel, but Muilenburg held on to gather his second win of the season while Petty,Reynolds,Young Dakota Maggard and point leader Little JC Newell completed the top 5.

The Transport Graphics StreetStocks were short on car count, but not in racing action for the 12 lap feature.Trevor Ellingson grabbed the opening lead with a 3 wide pass over Ricky Brashears and defending champion Joe Francis.Ellingson who had lost in the last few laps 2 weeks ago wouldn't make the same mistake this week as he and Francis showed side by side racing action the entire distance.Ellingson kept his Ford glued to the bottom on the turns and middle of the straightaways. With only 2 laps left,Francis pulled even in the turns as the duo were fender to fender. As the leaders came to turn 4 for the checkered flag,Francis got really close to Ellingson as Francis lost the power steering pump on his car.Ellingson nipped Francis by less than 2 inches for his first ever win as Francis,Prevoius winner Brandon Waters,Tom Curnutt and Rodney Yost completed the top 5.

Action resumes next Friday Night in the Central Bank Championship chase as Midway Consignment Auction on North Highway 5(Thursday Nights at 6PM) will help co-sponsor the special on track autograph session at intermission along with point battles for the FactoryStocks,Aaron's Modifieds,Rocky Ridge Construction Midwest Modz,Energy Company PureStocks and Transport Graphics StreetStocks with Hotlaps at 7:05 and racing at 8PM.
