Tanner, Lance, Walker, Anderson and Wilson fly to wins at
I-35 Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (June 18, 2011) - The night started off
with Mike Tanner from Kansas City picking up win number three on the season
in the IMCA Sport Mod division. What made it even more exciting was it was
also his birthday and he did a victory burnout for his son. The win didn't
come easy for Tanner as he had to get around Jeff Stotts and he had to hold
off newcomer Austin Kaplan. Kaplan finished right behind Tanner in second,
with Stotts third, Clay Hale fourth and JJ Baumli fifth. Nic Hanes of
Trenton went from 25th to 12th for the hard charger award.
In the IMCA Hobby Stocks, Billie Hoover crossed the
line in first but was disqualified after post race inspection. That gave the
win to Matthew Lance of Savannah. Lance came from his tenth place starting
spot to get the win, his first of 2011. Lee Farmer came home second followed
by Bruce Fair, Mike Youngs and Adam Reeter. Lance also won the hard
charger.
Travis Walker from Cameron started on the outside
front row and led every lap of the caution free Grand National feature. This
was the second week in a row the Grand Nationals went caution free. Walker
was followed across the line by Jason Anderson, Dean Wray, Mike Ryun and Tim
Shields. Jason Anderson won another hard charger award.
Kansas Citys Kevin Anderson on his third IMCA Stock
Car feature of 2011. Anderson had a good battle with Brad Whitney and Jake
Cameron to start the race and got by Whitney coming out of turn four when
Whitney got sideways. Shane Florence came away with second, Whitney third,
Cameron fourth and another strong run for Tyler Corkins in fifth. Anderson
also took home the hard charger.
Trenton Missouri's Bud Wilson took home top honors
in the IMCA Modifieds. Wilson had a battle with John Hanson for much of the
race before Hanson lost the handle on his machine. Colby Dixon finished
second, David Bouzek third, Cory Wray fourth and Steve Starmer fifth. Bouzek
took home the hard charger award.
