by: Phillip Wilson - I-35 Speedway Announcer/PR

WINSTON, MO (June 25, 2011) - Coming into tonight the drivers of I-35 Speedway have been putting on a great program for the fans. Tonight they made it three weeks in a row of fantastic racing! The last checker flag fell at 9:55pm and fans were sent home happy.

We started out the night the same as we did last week, and thats with KCMO's Mike Tanner in victory lane in the IMCA Sport Mods. Ask any driver and they'll tell you luck has a major factor in racing and Mike Tanner might have the best luck. Mix in his skill behind the wheel and you have a lethal combination. Tanner found himself running third when a screw came out of the bottom of Clay Hales fuel pump causing him to spew fuel while leading with three laps to go. On the ensuing restart Brad Dittemore who picked up the lead when Hale had to pit broke coming out of turn four. Tanner was in the right place at the right time and followed up last nights win with a win tonight. Thats his fourth of the season. Clint Baker in only his second race of 2011 came home second followed by newcomer Scott Vanbuskirk in third, Wes Bestgen led some laps and came home fourth and John Fugett fifth. Vanbuskirk came from 25th to 3rd to win the hard charger.

Trenton native Greg Kuehn picked up win number seven in the IMCA Hobby Stocks, most of any driver at I-35. Kuehn worked his way around traffic and had to hold off Lee Farmer at the end. Farmer finished second, last weeks winner Matthew Lance was third, newcomer Jake Nelson fourth and Bruce Fair fifth. Kuehn also picked up another hard charger award.

Kansas City's "Cowboy" Jeff Smith won his third career feature and first of 2011 in the Grand National division. Smith led every lap and held off Brad Whitney to get the win. Points leader Dean Wray came home third with Buz Kaster and Mike Taylor Jr. fourth and fifth. Taylor Jr. took home the hard charger award.

It was a very emotional night in the IMCA Stock Cars as Winston Missouri's Jake Cameron brought home his first I-35 Speedway win. For Cameron it was his third career win but the first at the track he tried so hard to win at. Cameron tried his best Carl Edwards impersonation but landed on his rear end on the track. Cameron had a great battle with Pat Neely and Jon Boller III. Gene Stigall got up to second, Pat Neely was third, Josh Steele fourth and points leader Kevin Anderson fifth. Stigall took home the hard charger award.

After a two week hiatis Darren Shaw of Kearney found himself in victory lane for the third time on the season in the IMCA Modifieds. Shaw had a great battle with Shay Woods before Woods lost his driveshaft in turn two. Points leader Cory Wray was right behind Shaw at the end finishing in second, Rick Spriggs and Perry Milbourn keep plugging away at top fives with their third and fourth place showings and Todd Wilson brought her home in fifth. Shaw aslo took the hard charger award.

Next week is our annual fireworks display. Make plans to attend I-35 Speedway on July 2nd and see hot racing and the best fireworks display around!!! Full results and points standings can be seen by visiting www.speednetdirect.com and going to I-35 Speedway!
