Shields, Fair, Ryun, Roberts and Wilson win at I-35
Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (July 9, 2011) - It was McElroy Metal Service night at I-35
Speedway. Five classes of cars ran eighteen races and had the show over by
10:30 p.m. And I-35 Speedway had five happy racers walk away with wins.
Dave Coates led the first seven laps of the IMCA Sport Mod A-Feature tonight
before Duke Jacobs and Brett Shields made their way by on a restart. Jacobs
would then lead the next four until Shields found a line and took home the
win. Shields from Mount Ayr Iowa captured his first checkered flag at I-35
Speedway and his second overall in his career. Points leader Chris Wright
came home second, a good run by Duke Jacobs holding on to third with Blake
Peeler and Anthony Asher rounding out the top five. Randy Ainsworth took
home the hard charger award.
Trenton Missouri's Bruce Fair took home win number two on the year in the
IMCA Hobby Stock division as he worked his way around teammate David Willey,
also of Trenton. Matthew Lance had a fast car as he came home second,
followed by Lee Farmer, points leader Greg Kuehn and David Willey. The top
four cars each gained six spots but the hard charger goes to Dan Stimson
subbing for the injured John King as he gained seven positions.
Pleasant Valley's "Flyin" Mike Ryun gained the upper hand in the win
catagory in the Grand National division as he rode to win number three.
Early on Darren Kling looked well on his way to a win before a caution flag
closed the field together. Ryun along with Dean Wray and Mike Taylor Jr. put
on a great show. Coming to the white flag Taylor Jr. had the lead before
Ryun used a great move out of turn two to take the win. Taylor out of turn
four tried to get the lead back and as he did Dean Wray was able to nab the
second spot, Taylor Jr. was third with Kling and Buz Kaster fourth and
fifth. Ryun also took home the hard charger award.
Kidder Missouri's Thomas Roberts matched his car number as he took win
number 65 in his career in the IMCA Stock Cars. Roberts, Jeff Dixon and Gene
Stigall battled it out before Roberts pulled away. Josh Steele had a good
run finishing second, Jake Cameron came back for third after an early spin,
father and son teammates Jon Boller Jr. and Jon Boller III were fourth and
fifth. Roberts also took home hard charger honors.
Another Trenton Missouri native found himself in victory lane in the IMCA
Modifieds. Bud Wilson took home the hardware for the second time in 2011.
Wilson had an early battle with Steve Starmer before motoring away. Shay
Woods came home second followed by Steve Starmer, Jim Cameron and Rick
Spriggs. "Mr. Excitment" Jim Cameron won the hard charger award.
