Miller, Stanton, Taylor Jr., Dixon and Wilson claim victories
at I-35 Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (August 6, 2011) - After the dust
settled at I-35 Speedway tonight we had two repeat winners, two first time
winner this season and one who won his first career race. Mother nature
tryed to add her two cents as the wind picked up after the last race was
over.
Ronnie Miller of Trenton Missouri claimed his first
career win in the IMCA Sport Mod division tonight. Miller made it look easy
but it was all but easy as he had to hold off multiple time feature winner
JJ Baumli to win. Baumli tried for twelve laps to get aropund the rookie but
to no avail. Baumli did finish second followed by Jeff Stotts, Randy
Ainsworth and Dale Hess. Nic Hanes started 25th and finished 6th to win the
hard charger award.
Two time defending track champion in the IMCA Hobby
Stocks made his second straight trip to I-35 Speedway tonight. Eric Stanton
took the win back to Hartford Iowa tonight, Stanton made his first trek
south to I-35 last week but lost an axel in the heat race. This years points
leader Greg Keuhn finished second, Matthew Lance was third, Lee Farmer
fourth and Alexis Whitney fifth. Keuhn won the hard charger award.
Mike Taylor Jr. from Kansas City took home his first
win of 2011 at I-35 Speedway. Taylor had to hold off a very fast Tim Shields
to do so. Taylor Jr. and Shields put on a great show for the fans running
bumper to bumper for much of the race. Shields did finish second, Dean Wray
was third, Mike Ryun finished fourth and Tim Billings rounded off the top 5.
Shields did take home some hardware as he won the hard charger award.
After a post race inspection disqualification Jeff
Dixon was credited for his fourth win in the IMCA Stock Cars. Gene Stigall
was second with Brad Whitney, Jon Boller III and Tyler Corkins moving into
the top five. The race went green to checkered and had some of the most
close, exciting and exilerating racing you've come to know from the IMCA
Stock Cars. Stigall took home the hard charger award.
Bud Wilson from Trenton Missouri claimed his second
win of 2011 in the IMCA Modifieds. It was a war of attrition as it seemed
anyone who got the lead would have mechanical problems. Dean Wray lost a
drive shaft, Steven Glenn lost a motor and Cory Wray had a huge lead before
he had to pull in. Wilson held off Rick Spriggs, Levi Trimble Cory Wray and
Shawn Lee to get the win. Levi Trimble started 11th and finished third to
win the hard charger.
Special events highlight august at I-35 Speedway
with next week being the second visit for the Midwest Outlaw Vintage Racers,
August 20th the Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints pay a visit to I-35 and
Thursday August 25th will be out second USMTS show for the year. Besure to
mark you calenders and don't miss any of the exciting action at I-35
Speedway!
