WORLEY AND SMITH ADORN VICTORY LANE – SAVAGE AND STOLZER ALSO CLAIM LAURELS

FARMINGTON, MO (August 20, 2011) – A super fast and great handling sprinter provided Tommy Worley, Jr with the tools necessary for another win. On Charter Communications / Jack in the Box Night at St Francois County Raceway, Worley came out with guns blazzin'. Joey Montgomery and Worley got the great jump and looked as if they were the only cars to challenge for the win. The feature event had some trouble getting started. Brian Keen on his return had difficulties as he rolled his mount in turn three and finished for the night. Second attempt at a start found Jimmy Bridgeman and Carl Finder entangled with each other. Once the race started Montgomery and Worley pulled away. Jason Keith and Kasey Burch both were in hot pursuit. Montgomery continued to lead until Worley got a tremendous run off corner two an shot to the lead and never looked back. Two more cautions would bunch up the field. Lap 9 for Bridgeman and Lap 11 for Burch. The combination of Worley, Alan barton Motorsports, Hedman Hedders, Red Line Oil and K & N Filters makes it to the winners circle for the 6th time in 10 tries. Not bad winning percentage. On the front straight Worley thanked Brad Greer and his race team for the use of a wing as his was destroyed in a roll over in his heat. Worley came across the line followed by Joey Montgomery in second. After an early spin point leader Jimmy Hurley made it back to third. Steve Short continued his good rides and takes fourth and Brad Greer completes the top five in fifth. Joey Montgomery takes dash honors on this night, his first of the season.

Another drivewr also claimed his sixth win of the season on Saturday. Billy Smith took his Nash Automotive, Big River Utilities, PJ's Grocery and Deli Modified to the winners circle. As in the sprint feature drivers were looking for places to run. Mike Abney, Matt Dotson and Preston Odom all got together on the back straight and brought out a caution and a complete restart. Smith and Kent Nations pulled up to the front with Chad Heady , Tommy Worley, Sr and Matt Eaton in position to challenge. Chad Heady would bring out the first caution as his car broke and could not get off the surface. Nations put pressure on Smith as the restart commenced. Lap 4 found Matt Eaton with issues in his mount and he was finished. At the time he was running third. Lap 7 found the caution again in the air. This time it was for second place running Nations as he spun his mount in turn two. He was able to continue and come back through the field for nice third place run. Fourth and fifth places go to Jeff Asher and Tom Vogt. Both drivers started deep in the field and made nice runs for their finish. Smith also claimed the dash, his fourth.

Getting a good rythym going seemed to be the order of business on this evening. Modified B Division had issues in the start. Matt DeNoyer spun his mount and brought out a caution. Just before his spin, Jeff Frohwitter, Michael Savage and Kenny Harris all got together and tore some sheet metal and a few other items. Harris had mostly sheet metal damage. Savage on the other hand trouble on the right front. Frohwitter came out the best in the ordeal. Very little damage was sustained to his mount. All three would continue. Kyle Stolzer had the best car tonight. Stolzer, the point leader, jumped to the lead, with Shane Blair, Brian Blair, and Frohwitter chasing. Cautions on Laps 1, 2, 4 , 5, and 10 slowed the event. John Bohn had motor issues in his car on the lap 10 caution and was finished for the event. Minor spins for Patrick DeNoyer, C J Wright, and Matt DeNoyer brought the remaining cautions. When all was said and done Stolzer parked his St Genevieve Dairy Queen, M & L Electric, Stolzer Farms, Arnold Masonry, John Vogt Racing engine entry in the winners circle for only the second time this season. He was heavily pressured during the event by Shane Blair. Blair got his victory a few weeks back and was working hard for the win. Stolzer held his line and his smoothness paid off. Blair settled for second followed by Greg Swearingem, Brian Blair and Eddie Gross. Shane Blair, Stolzer and Frohwitter take home checkers in heat races.

Pure Street action was hot and furious. Past Champion Chris Boyd and Charlie savage were clearly the class of the field this week. These two veteran pilots put on a show for the fans. Several time these two were close enough to maybe get a credit card between them. Boyd again no stranger to the winner circle only made one mistake. On the restart on Lap 7 he got up out of the groove in three and four. Charlie did not need much room and made the pass. Savage made up for last week when his right rear went flat and took home the colors in convincing fashion. We bring up lap 7 again. Ben Moore spun his car to a stop at one end of the speedway. At the other end in a unrelated incident, Dusty Homan and Robbie Wells mixed it up. Both drivers broke enough that they were unable to continue. Savage takes his first win of the season in the Mike Lucy Auto Sales, Dom Wadlow Excavating, Raider Mechanical entry. Boyd had a strong run for second. Eric Sarakas with another fine run finishes third. He was chased by point leader Jimmy Farris and Robbie Williams, completing the top five. Heat winners on this night belonged Boyd and Williams.
