Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial September 22-24, 2011

WHEATLAND, MO (September 14, 2011) - The stars of the ASCS National Tour make only one stop at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks in 2011. September 22-24, 2011 the nations top sprint car drivers will converge in Wheatland, Missouri to remember and honor the late Jesse Hockett and Daniel McMillin.The 1st Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series Presented by K & N Filters National Tour kicks off on Thursday evening, September 22nd with an open practice session followed by complete shows on both Friday Night, September 23rd and on Saturday night, September 24th. The SportMods will also be in action on Friday night while the Pitt's Homes A-Modifieds run in conjunction with the ASCS Sprint Cars on Saturday night. Tickets are available now on Show Clix for the three day event.

On May 26th, 2010 Jesse Hockett lost his life in a tragic electrical accident while preparing for the next several nights of racing. Jesse already had 5 wins in 2010 and 14 top 10 finishes. He was well on his way to another marquee year of racing. In his career Jesse accumlated 125 wins, 298 top five finishes and 410 top 10 finishes. Jesse is remembered as "The Rocket" and to those who knew him best a loving friend, who was kind and generous. Jesse's memory will live on forever in the hearts and lives of those around him. The race in his namesake will bring an outpouring of support from drivers, family, friends and fans who miss him dearly. 

Daniel McMillin know as "The Wrench" was Jesse's crew chief, cousin and friend. Daniel died in 2006 as a result of an automobile accident. McMillin and Hockett were inseparable and achieved great triumphs together in the racing world. The 1st Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial Race will commemorate the lives and careers of the two at Lucas Oil Speedway. 

Thursday night, September 22nd will kick off the three day event with an open practice. Pits will be open at 3PM, a pit pass is $25. Grandstand gates will open at 5PM with FREE admission. Drivers and fans are invited to join in a BBQ style dinner served from 6-9PM. Dinner is free to drivers participating in practice and just $10 for fans and crews. Don't miss out on drivers including; 2010 National Champion Jason Johnson, Shane Stewart, Gary Wright, Zach Chappell, Jack Dover, Tony Bruce Jr., Brian Brown, and many more of the top Winged Sprint Car Drivers in the country!  

Racing action will hit the track Friday night featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by K&N and the area's best SportMods. Friday night will be a complete show for both the ASCS and the SportMods. Grandstand gates will open at 4PM, hot laps at 5:45PM, racing at 6:30PM.

Saturday night will cap off the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour's only visit to Lucas Oil Speedway in 2011. The Pitts Homes A Modified's will run a full show on Saturday in addition to the Sprint's. Grandstand gates will open at 4PM, hot laps at 5:45PM, racing at 6:30PM.
