by Phillip Wilson - I-35 Speedway Announcer/PR

WINSTON, MO (September 24, 2011) - Double features were ran tonight in 4 of our 5 classes with four drivers repeating and we crowned our 5 track champions for the 2011 season. Even though our points season came to an end I-35 Speedway still has one weekend of racing to go, our first Show-Me Spectacular this Friday and Saturday night for Sport/B-Mods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks.

The Grand Nationals were forst on the track for their makeup feature. "Flyin" Mike Ryun of Pleasent Valley had already clinched the 2011 track championship and he also picked up win number seven. Ryun weaved his way around traffic after starting ninth. Steven Dibben of Smithville finished second, Jason Anderson from Kansas City crossed the line in third, Buz Kaster from KCK in his first of four races finished fourth and Christopher Smith from Kansas City was fifth. Ryun won another hard charger award.

Gene Stigall from Winston picked up win number two one the season and at the same time extended his points lead. Jake Cameron also from Winston finished second, Brad Whitney from Trenton was third, Kevin Anderson from Kansas City was fourth and St. Joesph driver Tyler Corkins was fifth. Cameron started 12th and finished 2nd to win the hard charger.

It's hard to believe after last season that IMCA Modified driver Steven Glenn from Hamilton had yet to win a feature. Coming off a season where he won numerous times and a track championship Glenn waited until the last two races of the season to shine. Glenn picked up his first win of the 2011 season in the first IMCA Modified feature of the night. Steve Starmer of New Hampton finished second, Rick Spriggs finished third, Buz Kaster of KCK was fourth and Tyler Vandekamp from Ankeny Iowa was fifth and won the hard charger. Cory Wray came into the race with a three point lead over Spriggs but finished tenth. Spriggs would go into the last race of the season with a four point lead over Wray.

Lee Farmer of Bethany picked up win number two of the season in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Curt Reed of Walker Iowa was second, points leader Greg Keuhn of Trenton was third, Matthew Lance of Savannah was fourth and Jeremy Turner of Pattonburg was fifth. Keuhn won the hard charger award.

In the IMCA Sport Mods Mike Tanner of Kansas City picked up win number six and the 2011 track championship. Tanner would hold off challenges from Jeff Stotts early on and Clay Hale later in the race. Clay Hale from Cameron would finish second for the second week in a row, Nic Hanes of Trenton was third, Brad Whitney of Trenton was fourth and Brett Shields of Mt. Ayr Iowa was fifth. Whitney started 24th and finished 4th to win the hard charger.

Mike Ryun from Pleasent Valley was the first driver to double up winning the second Grand National feature. Buz Kaster from KCK was second, Travis Walker of Cameron third, Tim Shields from Kansas City fourth and Kansas Citys Jason Anderson was fifth. Shields took home the hard charger.

Gene Stigall from Winston doubled up in the IMCA Stock Cars and is the 2011 track champion. Josh Steele of St. Joesph was second, Kansas Citys Kevin Anderson was third, Brad Whitney from Trenton was fourth and Bennie Turner of Smithville was fifth. Turner won the hard charger.

Steven Glenn of Hamilton won his second IMCA Modified feature of the night. Cory Wray from Jamesport came into the night three points up but after the first feature found himself four points down in the hunt for the Modified track title in the second feature he finished second. Darren Shaw of Lathrop finished third, KCK's Buz Kaster was fourth and Tyler Vandekamp from ankeny Iowa again was fifth and won the hard charger award. Rick Spriggs from Savannah wound up sixth which tied him with Wray for the points lead but with three wins Cory Wray is your 2011 IMCA Modified track champion.
