Vandenberg, Wahwahsuck and Auten win Show-Me Scrambles at
I-35 Speedway!

WINSTON, MO (September 30, 2011) - A good field of cars packed the pits for
night number 1 at I-35 Speedway for the first ever McCarthy Auto Group
Show-Me Spectacular. Everyone trying to get into the big show where it pays
$1,500 to win the Sport Mods/B-Mods, $750 to win Stock Cars and $500 to win
Hobby Stocks.
Heat wins in the Stock Cars went to Dean Wray, Jeff Dixon and Gene Stigall.
Gerald Wahwahsuck won the B Feature. In the A Scramble Gene Stigall would
lead the first five laps before Wahwahsuck found a line he liked and he was
gone. Wahwahsuck from Hiawatha Kansas went on to win the Scramble. Gene
Stigall from Winston and the 2011 I-35 Speedway IMCA Stock Car Champion
finished second, Kevin Anderson from KC MO was third, Jason Ryun from KC was
third and Jon Boller III from St. Joesph rounded off the top five. The top
12 in the Scramble locked themselves into Saturday nights A-Main and will
line up how they finished the A-Scramble.
Heat wins in the Hobby Stocks went to Bruce Fair, Jeremy Auten and Brad
Whitney, B-Feature win went to Rick Richie. Jeremy Autens second trip to
I-35 this season went better than his first. The first time he made the trip
to I-35 his car ended up on top of another. Tonight he won the A-Scramble
and locked himself into the main show in hopes of taking the big money back
to Clarinda Iowa. Second spot went to Trentons Brad Whitney who closed the
gap in final laps but ran out of time. Jeremy Ribbey from Clarinda finished
third, Lee Farmer from Bethany fourth and Rick Ritchie from Redding Iowa was
fifth.
Heat wins in the Sport Mod/B-Mod division went to Austin Kaplan, Brett
Shields, Carter Vandenberg, Gene Claxton and Lucas Issacs. The D Feature
went to Nic Hanes, C Feature to Cayden Carter and the B Feature to Clay
Hale. The A Scramble was an intense one as it went green to checkered. Gene
Claxton led ten of the fiftheen laps and on with two laps to go coming out
of turn four Claxton, Vandenberg, Kaplan and Carter were four wide.
Vanderberg out of Oskaloosa Iowa won the A-Scramble followed by Gene Claxton
of KC MO, Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa. Austin Kalpan from Ankeny Iowa and a
former IMCA National Champion was fourth and Nick Roberts was fifth.
