24 Raceway, saw the racing action wrap up the 2006 season with some solid performances on what has come to be known as "Cheater's Night" in Moberly, Missouri
by: Ron Lueck

MOBERLY, MO. (Sept. 30, 2006) - A very nice Saturday night, September 30th, at 24 Raceway, saw the racing action wrap up the 2006 season with some solid performances on what has come to be known as "Cheater's Night" in Moberly, Missouri.

A GREAT 2-car race was the main show in the A-modified class. Danny Crane rode the back end of Mike Hoover's car for the 1st 7 laps, but got around him to lead the last 13 for his 1st win at 24 Raceway after a couple of seasons away. In the Moberly Motors B-modifieds, Kelly Smith had one fine September showing at the track, adding this night's feature win for a total of 4 out of 5 possible feature wins for the month! Jeff Creed, in a hard-fought battle with early leader Dave Bentlage, came on to win in the Sportsman class over Bentlage in some great side by side competition. Alan Hultz led most of the laps in both the heat and feature for the Hobby Stock win, and John Brown, in a new car, got the Hornet win with Rob Chase pulling off a good squeeze move at the line for second place in one great race!

This was it for the season at 24 Raceway, and the staff and management would like to thank all of the fans who came out during the year to watch these drivers put on great quality racing. And a special Thanks to all of the drivers, car owners and their respective crews, for taking part and bringing such a competative, positive atmosphere to Moberly, Missouri. We'll see you at the January Awards Banquet at the Municiple Auditorium in downtown Moberly, for some trophies, food & beverage and live music later. "Dirt Track Racing at its Best" will be back again for the 2007 season before-you-know-it, at 24 Raceway, east of Moberly, Missouri on U.S. Highway 24. The complete report by Pam Hassler, along with a repeated list of the results will follow on Monday Oct. 2.
