Hurricane rebounds at Eagle!

LINCOLN, NE (June 10, 2006) - It really has been a long 3 weeks for Randy Hannagan. Flying to California upon the news of his mothers illness and being there as she fought and recovered can take it’s toll on anyone. But the Hurricane showed true grit when he returned to the cockpit of the Penthouse Magazine/Brown & Miller #1x Maxim at Eldora last Saturday night and came home a strong 7th. It was a great performance for the Terry Hannagan Racing team, considering there were quite a few top teams on hand and Randy had not been in the car for over 2 weeks. In this business though your only as good as your next race.

On the following night at the Action Track, Terre Haute, Randy would not fare as well. A sour motor would see Randy miss the invert in qualifying and be relegated to a back of the pack starting position in his heat. He would climb to 6th but miss the feature and have to start deep in the “B”. Hannagan was fast from the get go using the high line to pass cars at will and climb from 10th to 6th, but the laps would run out and Hannagan would miss the feature by one spot. Good thing the Outlaws have such a busy schedule, because there was no time to rest as the team went back to their Pittsboro, Indiana shop.

Last night at Eagle Raceway once again the team showed what it is capable of. Qualifying a solid 13th and solidly in the invert the Hurricane would take the Penthouse Magazine/Brown & Miller 1x Maxim to a 3rd place finish in the heat and a 13th starting position in the feature. On a hot and windy night and a track that was very slick, Hannagan would use every inch of it to slice and dice past cars to a solid 7th place finish. What a week can do!

“I knew we would be good here.” Said Hannagan. “Eldora was a great run for us, unfortunately a motor problem at Terre Haute caused us to miss the show. We were fast enough once we made the motor change but on a ½ mile track it is tough to climb from so far back. We held our heads up and knew we could rebound. Last night we were fast right from the get go and I really like our chances for this evening. Both Terry and Brian have worked so hard all year to give me a great car and I know we are capable of winning one of these nights.”
