by: Darin Racek

McCOOK, NE. (July 12, 2006) - While patrons of the Red Willow County Fair “Catch a Fast Ride,” racers at McCook Speedway will hope they have a fast ride at the fair race on Thursday, July 27, beginning at 7:30 PM Central Time. The IMCA Modifieds will run a 25 lap A Feature where the winner could take home $1000.00. The IMCA Stock Cars will also run 25 laps, shooting for an $800 top prize. The IMCA Hobby Stocks will drive a 15 lap A Feature, with the winner getting a chance to take home $250. The other regular classes will have the night off. These winning prizes are based on 25 cars for each class. Heat races and potential B Features will be run to qualify the cars for the A Features. Lineups for heat races and for the front rows of the A Features will be determined by the draw rather than points.

Drivers will run for IMCA national, regional, and state points, but not track points. Entry fees for all cars will be $25, which does not include pit pass for the driver. Pit passes are $20. The admission in the grandstand will be $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6 - 12, and children five and under are free. Advanced grandstand tickets may be purchased from the Red Willow County Fair Board Office. The grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM Central Time.
