Riverside Motorsports Sets 2008 Lincoln County Raceway Schedule by Darin Racek NORTH PLATTE (Mar 13) - Riverside Motorsports, headed by Gary Herbst, has finalized plans for the 2008 season at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte. The schedule offers three specials this year to go along with a ten race season, not counting the Tenth Annual Sandhills Shootout, promoted by the Lincoln County Ag Society, scheduled for July 25 - 26. On regular Lincoln County Raceway nights, the Modifieds, Stocks Cars, and Hobby Stocks, all sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association, will be putting a show on the 3/8 mile track, while the Mini-Sprints battle on the smaller, infield track. There will be a change in the rules in the Mini Sprint class that will open the rules and allow cars with restricted 600 cubic centimeter engines to run with the cars that currently run engines 270cc in size. The American Sprint Car Series (Rocky Mountain division) 360 Sprint Cars will compete in the Third Annual River Valley Sprint Car Nationals on July 12. The up and coming United Rebel Sprint Series will bring their 305 Sprint Cars for the first time ever to North Platte on August 9. The Third Annual "Run For the Money" is also in the works for the three IMCA classes during the June 17 Tuesday show. The Lincoln County Ag Society will promote the tenth annual Sandhills Shoot on July 25 - 26. Details on that race will come later, including ticket prices. Ticket prices for regular shows will be $9.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 6 - 12, and free for children under 6. During the three specials planned by Riverside Motorsports, tickets will be $12.00 for adults, $6.00 for children 6 - 12, and free for children under 6. Pit passes are $20.00.
