Sandhills Shootout sports two features, bonuses for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (July 21) – Two feature events and big bonuses are in store for both IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars running in the Friday and Saturday, July 25-26 Sandhills Shootout special at Lincoln County Raceway.

Modified winners both nights earn $1,500. The driver with the top two- day point total also gets a hefty $2,000 bonus under the new format, so as many as three different drivers could become 2009 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers.

Both Stock Car features pay $500 to win, with a $1,000 bonus going to the driver topping point standings for the two-day show. That driver becomes eligible to qualify for the Sunoco Race Fuels Race of Champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals this September.

All applicable IMCA points will be awarded both days. Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at approximately 5:45 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

Twenty-four cars will comprise the Modified starting grids; 20 cars will take the green flag in the Stock features.

Grandstand admission for adults is $10 on Friday, $12 on Saturday or $20 for a two-day ticket; kids 6-12 and $5 and youngsters five and under will be admitted free both days.

Pit passes are $20; no one under the age of 14 will be allowed in the pits.

Rain date is July 28-29.
