Boone County shines Friday night lights on IMCA Hobbies

ALBION, Neb. (Feb. 5) – IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks join sanctioned Modifieds beginning this season at Boone County Raceway.

Opening night for both divisions is April 30. Friday night point races run through Aug. 27.

“We have had a Hobby Stock class very similar to IMCA’s for some years now,” said co-promoter Dennis Krohn. “It’s a division we want to build on and going with IMCA should bring in some drivers chasing national and regional points.”

Banking of the 5/16th-mile dirt oval was reduced last fall and Krohn expects that to make for more passing in all classes this year.

Hobby Stocks will be part of IMCA’s Probe Industries Northern Region. Modified points earned at Boone County will continue to apply toward ButlerBuilt Central Region standings.

Krohn and brothers Mike and James will oversee weekly race programs at Albion for the 14th consecutive season. IMCA Modifieds have been sanctioned at Boone County since 1995.
