“Clauson Two for Two after Butler Victory”

RISING CITY, NE (August 2) - Bryan Clauson won the Ron Hughes Sr. & Jr. Memorial Monday Night at Butler Motorplex. The victory was the second straight for Clauson in the Speedway Motors Midget Money Week presented by RevHoney Energy Drinks, sanctioned by the POWRi, USAC/SMRS and RMMRA Midget Series.

Clauson jumped into the lead at the start. Matt Sherrell escaped injury on Lap 5 when the Oklahoma driver flipped. Despite several cautions Clauson was again the driver to beat driving the Corey Tucker owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger#39. Defending POWRi champion Brad Kuhn, Jerry Coons Jr., POWRi points leader Brad Loyet and Davey Ray completed the top five.

Series action shifts to Junction Motor Speedway (McCool Junction Neb.) for The 6th Annual Cornhusker Midget Challenge sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts on Tuesday and Wednesday Aug. 3-4. A 25-lap feature paying $3000 to win will highlight Tuesday’s events. The top four competitors from Tuesday will be locked into the Wednesday’s Championship feature with the balance of the field running preliminary races, and a 40-lap feature paying $5000 to win.
