Speedway Motors program benefits IMCA drivers, tracks

LINCOLN, Neb. (January 31, 2011) – Renewing one of IMCA’s most popular awards programs, Speedway Motors continues its support of drivers in all divisions and the sanctioned tracks they compete at in 2011.

Registered rookies receive $100 gift cards, a T-shirt and special decal from the Lincoln, Neb., speed shop af­ter their first feature win.

"Four hundred and sixty-four different rookie drivers have won a feature event since the inception of the pro­gram in 2004, with a record 86 last season,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “The infusion of new talent to IMCA racing continues to grow each year and we are proud to partner with Speedway Motors in rec­ognizing their accomplishments."

The highest finishing eligible driver in each IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car region, and in national standings for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Southern SportMods all get a set of Tru-Coil springs.

In addition to competing with Tru-Coil springs during the regular point season, drivers are required to complete and return a sign-up form to the IMCA home office by Aug. 1.

Speedway Motors also continues its title sponsorship of Super Nationals, the premier event in dirt track racing in the country. The 29^th annual event will be held Sept. 5-10 at Boone, Iowa, Speedway

While extending its partnership with IMCA to 32 years, Speedway Motors also begins a fourth season as title sponsor of the sanctioning body’s weekly racing program, providing promoter jackets and shirts, tech inspector shirts, flags and banners, among other items, to tracks crowning IMCA champions.

"The 2011 IMCA Speedway Motors track apparel will ship directly to sanctioned tracks beginning in March, but those with scheduled events prior to that time may receive shirts depending on the items in stock,” noted Yoder. “Speedway is also working on developing some additional options for tracks to upgrade the look for their officials, and hopefully those details will be available soon as well."
