BVR Raceway Getting Ready for Season Opener!
by: Dennis Grabenbauer

Buena Vista, Ia. (March 28, 2006) - With the 2006 racing season now within eyeshot, the final touches are being put in place at the Buena Vista Raceway. Co-promoters, Lee and Becky Meyer will be starting their 5th season as promoters at the raceway, and again are feeling that eagerness to get things going once again. “When the final checkered flag flew back in September, our track maintenance program shifted in to high gear”, said Lee. “Our crews have been busy working on many things like adding dirt to the raceway as well as replacing the front straight a way fence.”

Not only has the maintenance crew on the track been busy, but working on the racing program has also been in action. “We felt last years racing schedule was very good, but this year we are going to bring even better racing to our track for our fans,” say’s Becky. “We have added new events to the schedule that will help us show case our facility as being one of the most versatile tracks around.”

And the best way to continue to add to the program will get things underway this Friday night with the First Annual “Graham Trailers Frost Buster Chassis Challenge Special”. “What we have done is to invite the Chassis Builders to challenge one another to find out what chassis is the best. We have put up extra money that will go to the winners in all of our I.M.C.A. divisions as they go head to head for the first time this year,” explains Lee.

The I.M.C.A. Modifieds will be racing for the top prize of $1000 for the winner. I.M.C.A. Stock Cars will race for $500 and the I.M.C.A. Hobby Stock will race for $300. There will be no weekly track point’s awarded on this night, but the drivers will be racing for I.M.C.A. Regional and National Points. April 8th will feature the Iowa Enduro Series making an appearance to the raceway. This will be a Saturday afternoon event and will begin at 4:00. Then on the next Wednesday night, April 12th, the regular season will roar to life right up to the Season Championships on August 30th. “We’ve got a great schedule put together with our regular racing action”, say’s Lee, “then ad the Deery Brother Summer Series on Wednesday June 14th, then the Dick Simpson Memorial on Monday July 17th, it just all makes for a wonderful upcoming racing season.”

Pit gates will open at 5:00, the grandstand at 6:00, Hot Laps will begin at 6:45 and the first green flag of the season will begin at 7:30, on Friday night March 31st. For additional information regarding the Buena Vista Raceway call
