112 cars stuffed into the pit area for
Thursday night Thunder during the Hamilton County Fair

RADCLIFFE. IA. (July 27, 2006) -
Thursday
night at The Hamilton County Speedway was Thursday Night Thunder brought to
you by Chalfant Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning and Bryan Denekas of
Karl Chevrolet. Trophy sponsor on the night was DJ’s Trophys and Troy
Hassebrock CPA. Thursday night thunder brought cars and fans from far and
wide to see the Late Models, Modifieds, and Stocks cars all compete for the
$1,000 to win prize money.
The night was started off with the running of
the Econo Stock Feature event. T.J. Mortenson would grab the lead early in
the event as he was followed by Andy Jones and Devin Smith. Finally, The
checkered flag would come out and it would be Mortenson making it first to the
finish line. Mortenson was followed by Donovan Nokes, Perne Struchen, and
Devin Smith. Mortenson picked up the heat race win.
The Performace Electric Hobby Stock feature
event was next on the speedway. Travis Prochaska was able to lead early as
Dustin Smith and Paul Nagle would work to the front from deep in the field.
As the laps were counting off, Nagle was able to power his machine to the
front of the field and take the lead away. Nagle would make the final pass
for the lead on the night and pick up the feature win. Nagle was followed by
Dustin Smith, Brandon Leeman, and Brad Schipper. Curt Hook, Brandon Leeman,
and Dustin Smith picked up heat race wins.
Next on the raceway was the 20 lap Neighbors
Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Stock Feature event sponsored by Karl Chevrolet
and salesman Bryan Denekas. 28 Stock cars were packed into the pit area with
thier eyes on the $1,000 top prize. Right away as they took the green flag,
Scott Bloemke would hustle his machine to the top spot. Mitchell Griffith
would take the lead away on lap 2 and lead the race throughout. As the laps
counted off, Jason Wagoner, who made the show out of the B Main, was able to
work his machine from a 19 place starting position, all the way to second.
Several late race cautions would put Wagoner on Griffiths back bumper. On the
restarts, Wagoner would jam the machine to the very bottom, but Griffith was
able to power away as they exited the turns. Mitchell Griffith was able to
lead the final 19 laps on his way to a $1,000 dollar Stock Car feature
victory. Damon Murty, Jason Wagoner, and Lance Deal would round out the top
four. Jason Wagoner picked up the B Main win and Damon Murty, Mike
VanGenderen, Reid Keller, and Jeremy Ades would pick up heat race wins.

winner prize money.
The Conleys Trucking Limited Modifeds were next
to do battle on the speedway. Ryan Gustin and Ryan Giles would battle for the
lead for the first several laps. Gustin was able to take the spot away and
put Giles back to second. Nate Caruth would make his way to the second
position but would have to settle for the runner up spot. Ryan Gustin would
win the Thursday Night Thunder feature event followed by Caruth, Jacob Murray
and Ryan Giles. Ryan Gustin, Nate Caruth, and Ryan Giles would pick up the
heat races wins.
The West Wind Logistics Modified feature was
next out on the race track for their 20 lap feature event. $1,000 was on the
line in this one and Scott Olson would flex his muscle right away. Olson
would lead and protect the bottom as Jimmy Gustin would work the machine right
on his back bumper. Jon Snyder and Jason Wagoner would bring their machines
from deep in the field all the way to the front. Gustin would try several
more times on the bottom side of the speedway to make the pass for the lead,
but Olson was able to slam the door shut right behind him. Olson would power
to the $1,000 Thursday Night Thunder feature win followed by Jimmy Gustin, Jon
Snyder and Jason Wagoner. Joe McBirnie, Jon Snyder, and Skeeter Paris would
pick up heat race wins.
The final race of the night was the 30 lap
Dinsdale Motors IMCA Late Model feature event. 18 Late Models would compete
for the $1,000 prize money to the winner. Tony Moro would lead the race early
in the event until Jeremy Grady would steal the lead away. Grady would
continue to lead until Terry Neal flew by around the high side of the track.
Neal would continue to lead as Aikey made his way to second. Aikey would
close in through the lapped traffic until Neal cleared himself through the
field and extended his lead again. Neal was able to bag the $1,000 Thursday
Night Thunder feature win followed by Jeff Aikey, Jeremy Grady, and Darrel
DeFrance. Ryan Griffith, Terry Neal and Darrel DeFrance would pick up the
heat race wins.
Thursday Night Thunder would provide plenty of
tight racing action and family fun for all ages. Thank you to everyone that

County Fair.
