GREENE,PINKERTON AND VANDERBEEK TAKE CHECKERS ON BUDWEISER NIGHT AT SIS

OSKALOOSA, Ia (May 11, 2006) - Another wild Wednesday night of racing action at the always fast 1/2 mile the Southern Iowa Speedway. Budweiser night at the races with three exciting classes in action in the Casey`s General Stores USRA point chase for local and national points.

The night started off with the Musco Lighting USRA modified feature going twenty laps with local racer Steven Blattler of Oskaloosa and John Vandenberg of Oskaloosa battling for the race lead with Blattler leading the field for the first ten laps to the midway point before the caution flag flew. This closed the field up with Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon running second and on the restart powered by Blattler to take the lead and lead the final nine laps for the win. Blattler took second with Brad Pinkerton battling his way from tenth to take third along with Scott Dickey of Packwood in fourth. A battle for fifth between Rick Gustin of Marshalltown and Brandon Banks of Washington going wheel-to-wheel for the fifth spot with Gustin in fifth and Banks in sixth.

The second feature of the night was the USRA hobby stock feature with the field trying three times to get a lap in the books but a crash off turn four would send Bill Gibson of Knoxville to the Mahaska County Hospital with injuries to his foot after crashing into Mike Shelton of Ottumwa in turn four. The fourth restart of the night would see Matt Snyder of Kirksville,Mo. taking the early race lead with Bobby Greene of Eddyville running second. Snyder would get to high coming off turn two letting Greene to take the race lead and never looked back taking his second win in the past three weeks. Nathan Wood of Sigourney battled from the seventh starting spot for the second spot trying several times for the lead but came up short with a second place finish.Snyder took third with Todd Reitzler of Grinnell taking fourth and Steve Allen of Oskaloosa in fifth.
 

In the final feature off the night the USRA stock cars battled it out with the full fender machines thrilling the crowd. Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon found victory lane by leading all eighteen laps for the win. The battle for second, third, fourth and fifth got really heated with three and some times four wide racing for position with T.J.Criss of Oskaloosa taking second after starting eigth with teammate Brian Mitrisin of Oskaloosa taking third and Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon taking fourth. The fifth place went to rookie driver Colt Mather who worked his way up five spots fafter starting tenth.

Next weeks racing action will feature all three of the Casey`s General Store USRA divisions in action with hot laps at 7:00pm and racing action following around 7:30 for Wild Wednesday racing action.
