CARTER, NUNNIKHOVEN, VANDERBEEK AND WOOD SCORE SIS CHECKERS

OSKALOOSA, IOWA (June 9, 2010) - The Casey’s General Stores USRA weekly racing series made it’s third race of the 2010 season and it was a great night with some hot action in all four classes.

The Carter Manufacturing USRA b-mods saw Jason McDaniel of Eldon and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa bringing the field to the green with McDaniel leading the field for the first six laps before the battle heated up with Carter. Carter made the pass and would score his second win of the 2010 season at SIS. McDaniel would lose the battle between him and last weeks winner Tyler Groenendyk of Oskaloosa and Groenendyk taking the runner-up spot with McDaniel in third and Mike Shelton of Bloomfield in fourth.

The Karl Chevrolet USRA stock cars saw battle for the top spot with Nathan Wood of Keswick holding off several challenges to take his second straight win at SIS. The season opener winner Shane Weller of Agency taking the runner-up spot with Mike Vangendren of Newton and Kyle Harwood of Oskaloosa battling for third with Harwood taking it by six inches over Vangendren who had a flat tire and still got fourth. In the USRA hobby stocks Matt Messamaker of Moravia looked to have his first win but would take the runner-up spot to Donavan Nunnikhoven of Sully who raced his way from the ninth starting spot for the win.

Kris Walker of Oskaloosa and Nick Murty of Chelsea racing for the third spot and Jim Hughes of Beacon making it a three wide battle with Walker in third and Murty in fourth.

The MUSCO Lighting USRA A-mods made it twenty laps with three lead changes between Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon and Steven Blattler of Osklaoosa and Zack Vanderbeek of New Sharon.

Blattler would lead till lap fifteen before Vanderbeek would secure the lead and pilot his Casey’s General Stores 33Z machine to victory lane. Blattler in second with Colt Mather of Webster in third and Pinkerton in fourth.

Next week will be all four classes with hot laps at 7:15pm and racing action at 7:30pm.
