Quincy, Boone dates next for Deery Series

QUINCY, Ill. (Aug 30, 2006) – With their regular weekly point season completed, IMCA Sunoco Late Model drivers turn their focus to the four dates remaining in the Deery Brothers Summer Series.

The tour travels to Quincy Raceway for a Sunday, Sept. 3 show before hitting the highway to Boone Speedway for opening night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals on Monday, Sept. 4. Both features pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. at Quincy, with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m.

Qualifying races for Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks round out the Monday card at Boone. Pit gates open at 10 a.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing gets underway at 5 p.m.

Rob Toland, currently second in the points chase behind Jeff Aikey, has won the last two, and four of the last five Deery races at Quincy. Mark Burgtorf is also a four time winner at his hometown track.

The Labor Day show marks the 27th Deery appearance at Boone. Darrel DeFrance is the defending Super Nationals winner, while 2005 series champion Terry Neal has taken the checkered flag at each of the last two May specials for Late Models there.

Quad City Speedway at East Moline, Ill., hosts the 300th event in series history Sunday, Sept. 10.

The 20th annual tour wraps up with the Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16 $10,000 to win Pepsi USA Nationals at 34 Raceway in West Burlington.
