NASCAR Star and TV Personality Kenny Wallace to Race at Quincy Raceways 

QUINCY, IL (June 13, 2011) - Quincy Raceways is proud to announce that NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Kenny Wallace will be appearing and racing his Federated Auto Parts UMP Modified during the annual Pepsi Mid-Season Championships on Sunday June 26. Wallace is also a well known TV personality as he appears regularly on Speed TV during the coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series events.

Wallace is no stranger to Quincy Raceways as he was a pit crew regular during the years his brother Mike competed weekly at Quincy in the Winston Racing Series in the 70’s. Wallace has many friends and fans in the Quincy area. He has also appeared and raced at Quincy in the Modified division in past seasons. Kenny, sometimes is called by his famous nickname “Herman the German”, after he was compared to infamous “Herman the German” cartoon character. Kenny will be available for autographs after the event is completed in the pit area.

Kenny’s NASCAR Nationwide Series accomplishments include nine wins, ten poles, and nine seasons in the top ten in driver points.  Kenny has over 425 Nationwide Series starts, making him only the second driver with this distinction.  Kenny is the only driver to have won the Nationwide Series Most Popular Driver Award three times, in 1991, 1994 and 2006. Kenny’s short track racing is sponsored by Federated Auto Parts for 2011 and he will be competing at several Midwest racing venues over the summer competing in his UMP Modified. The Pepsi Mid-Season Championships is the annual event that marks the half way point of the race season at Quincy Raceways. The Budweiser IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars, KRNQ Pepsi Inside Track Hobby Stocks and the Summy Tire and Auto Center Wild Things will be competing for the prestigious trophies representing the mid season event.

Pit gates open at 3:30, Grandstands 4:30, Drivers Meeting and Drivers Registration ends at 5:30, Hot Laps at 5:45 and Racing at 6:30pm.
