Perry, Long, Brocksieck, Anders and Bangert Take Quincy Checkers
 By Jack Walbring

QUINCY, IL (August 15, 2011) - Jason Perry, Michael Long, Aaron Brocksieck, Bobby Anders and Craig Bangert all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday August 14 during BAR S Hot Dogs Night at the Races.

Perry put on a dominating performance by leading every lap of the 30 lap Budweiser IMCA Late Model main event. Perry stretched his early lead into a straight away advantage until a yellow flag brought the field back together on the twenty fifth lap. Lonnie Bailey had made a run at Perry, closing up the advantage to a few car lengths when the caution flag flew. Bailey then had to battle with Joey Gower over the closing laps taking away the opportunity to catch Perry who had set sail again after the green flag. Bailey settled for second followed by Gower in third, Keith Pratt in fourth and Matt Bailey in fifth. Gower and Clint Kirkham were the heat race winners. With only two more points races left for the Budweiser IMCA Late Models, the point’s battle now is extremely close with Reed holding the slimmest of margins over Pratt in second by one point, the top four is separated by only four points.

Michael Long battled to the front of the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event from his third row starting spot on the sixth lap and held off some very serious challenges from Jared Schlipman and Steven DeLonjay to take his second feature win in a row. DeLonjay settled for second at the checkered flag followed by Schlipman in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Dave Wietholder in fifth. Deering, DeLonjay and Long were the heat race winners. DeLonjay now holds a one hundred point advantage over Schlipman in his quest for his first UMP Modified Track Championship.

Aaron Brocksieck held off Abe Huls to rack up his fourth feature win in nine starts in the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car main event. Huls settled for second followed by Terry Houston in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Ty Hill in fifth. Kevin Tomlinson took the heat race win. Brocksieck now had an eleven point lead over Houston in the point’s race.

Bobby Anders used his outside front row starting spot advantage to lead every lap of the KRNQ Pepsi Inside Track Hobby Stock feature event. Anders held off a determined Tanner Klingele to take his fifth feature win of the season. Jim Powell grabbed third followed by Jake Powers in fourth and Nathan Anders in fifth. Klingele and Bobby Anders were the heat race winners. Steve Carlin now has a twenty four point margin over Powers in his quest for a fifth Track Points Championship.

Craig Bangert held back all the challenges that Seith Woodruff threw his way to take the feature event win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Wild Things feature event. Woodruff settled for second followed by Kimberly Abbot in third, Austin Uppinghouse in fourth and Brandon Lambert in fifth. Abbot and Uppinghouse were the heat race winners. Woodruff now holds an eleven point advantage over Casey Kendrick in the point’s battle.
