Springfield Practice/Mark Bourey interview
By Gary Woodall

Springfield, Mo. (April 8, 2006) - They all said they were just playing, but when the Show-Me Series Late Models went out for their segment of practice time at the Springfield Raceway, it looked pretty serious to me. Kevin Henson, Mike Hailmann, Chad Pyle, Scott Fry, Mark Bourey and Jeremy Kelley "rocked the house" and everyone at the track was loving it. They ran bumper to bumper, door to door at times and the engines roared and the dirt was flyin'.

I talked with each of them after each session and they were all smiling. Other than a tweak here and there, the drivers and crews were pleased with their cars and were ready for Saturday, April 15th. That's the first race of the season for the Series drivers and if the "playing around" was only a preview of what's to come, you won't want to miss it!

Bragging rights for winning the "first" race of the season, add some Championship points, then some decent purse money and that's about all they need to drive their hearts out. Defending Series Champion, Ken Essary will have his hands full in 2006 to hold on to that title. Ken, along with 20 something more Show-Me Series Late Model drivers are expected at the Springfield track for their season opener.

Gates will open at 3:00, HOT laps at 5:00 and racing is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. next Saturday, April 15th at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. Modifieds, 'B' Mods, Factory Stocks and Bombers are the weekly classes at the track and will also see their first action on opening night.

Don't miss the first night of racing for the Show-Me Racin Series and the season opener at the Springfield Raceway to get the 2006 season off to a "roaring" start.

It sports an orange with white and black trim paint scheme, it wears the #30 and the driver is Mark Bourey. He's not sure at this point how much of the schedule he will run, but he thanks R&M Industries and others for all their support for the upcoming year. The power for the GRT in 2006 will come from an engine built by B&W Engines. You can see Mark at the season opener for the Show-Me Racin Series at the Springfield Raceway on April 15th.
