Show-Me Series this weekend at Springfield Raceway
By Gary Woodall

Springfield, Mo. (April 10, 2006) - The Show-Me Racin Series Late Models will kick off the 2006 racing season April 15th at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. Hot laps are set to begin at 5:00 and the racing action will get started at 6:00 p.m. In recent interviews with numerous members of the Series, expect to see some very serious competition as founder of the Series, Ken Essary, tries to defend his '05 Championship title.

Kevin Henson was 4th in the points in 2005 and said his goal for '06 was "The Championship". Rookie of the Year last year, Dairin Hendrix will also be one to watch in his brand new GRT race car. Rick Lebow and Chris Coats, numbers 2 and 3 in the points last season are also hungry for the "bragging rights" the Championship has. Ken Essary said "As competitive as this Series has become, the number of "top notch" drivers that make up the Series, any driver who starts the feature is a threat to win". Preliminary plans have already begun for the 2007 season Essary said, and "our intentions are to build the Show-Me Series for years to come. It's an affordable way for a guy to get in a Late Model, and I like to give drivers an alternative without spending a fortune".

Newcomer Jeremy Manes, the youngest member in the group, put in some impressive laps at a recent practice session at the Springfield track. Jeremy started racing go-carts at any early age, also competed in the Mini Stock and Pro 4 classes. Factory Stock Champion, Mike Hailmann is only 19 years old but you can expect to see him right in the middle of the action all season. He worked his way up from go-carts at an early age, and has a lot of "rubbin' is racin" intensity. His goal for 2006 is to win a feature and finish the season in the top 5 in points.

With 21 races on the schedule, you can see the Show-Me Racin Series in action at the West Plains Motor Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Lebanon Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Nevada Speedway and 7 times at the Springfield Raceway. Tri-State Speedway in Ft. Smith and West Siloam Speedway in Arkansas, as well as Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt Kansas and Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma will also host the Series in 2006.
